Tata Motors exported 779 units in the month of March 2026, exhibiting an increase of a whopping 204% from 256 units shipped a year ago.

Tata Motors sold 66,192 PVs (Passenger Vehicles) in March 2026, representing a rise of a 28% over the last year's 51,616 units. While the export volumes surged by a whopping 204% to 779 units from 256 units a year earlier, the sales of passenger vehicles, including EVs, grew 29% year-on-year to 66,971 units. That said, EVs alone contributed to 9,494 units, sold across domestic and international markets, showing a rise of 77% year-on-year.
In Q4 FY26, the homegrown automaker saw growth across all passenger vehicle segments. The sales in the domestic market increased by 36% to 1.99 lakh units, while exports hit 2,625 units, showing an impressive jump of 201% from 872 units shipped in Q4 FY25. Overall PV volumes, including EVs, stood at 2.01 lakh units, marking a 37% rise over Q4 FY25’s 1.47 lakh units. Meanwhile, EVs recorded a 69% year-on-year growth to 26,931 units.

Tata Motors reported selling 6.31 lakh units domestically in FY26, exhibiting a 14% increase over 5.54 lakh units sold in FY25. It shipped 10,200 units, showing a sharp 281% growth compared to 2,678 units. Overall PV sales, including EVs, rose 15% year-on-year to 6.42 lakh units. Meanwhile, the electric vehicle segment recorded a strong 43% growth, reaching 92,120 units.
Commenting on the sales, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, MD and CEO, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. said, 'PV industry sales are expected to reach record volumes of ~4.7 million units for the year, reflecting 8% year on year (YoY) growth. The industry witnessed a strong rebound in the second half, posting double-digit growth, supported by GST 2.0 implementation and a robust festive season.'
He added that the 'Nexon and Punch emerged as the highest-selling SUV models in H2, underscoring the strength of our SUV portfolio, while industry-beating growth in hatchbacks reinforced their customer preference. Our recent launches of Sierra, refreshed Punch, and petrol versions of Harrier & Safari continue to see progressive growth in customer traction, across bookings, enquiries, and deliveries.'
