Tata Motors recorded its highest-ever sales in January, marking an impressive start to 2026. It sold 71,066 PVs (Passenger vehicles), compared to 48,316 units in January 2025. This translated to a growth of 47.1% year-on-year. Of the total, 70,222 units, including both ICE and electric models, were supplied in the domestic market, while 822 units were shipped overseas, representing a 46.1% and a 251.7% growth, respectively.
Electric cars continued to dominate the sales, with combined domestic and international deliveries reaching 9,052 units, a rise of 72.7% from 5,240 units sold in January 2025, highlighting the company's accelerating shift toward sustainable mobility.
The Tata Punch crossed 7 lakh cumulative sales after selling more than 19,000 units in January 2026, claiming one of the fastest growth trajectories in its category. The Nexon SUV marked another milestone with 10 lakh cumulative sales, following over 23,000 units sold in the month. The Tiago has also surpassed 7 lakh cumulative units.

In January, Tata Motors launched the facelifted Punch SUV in India, with introductory prices starting at Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model comes with slim DRLs, reworked bumpers, new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, updated Tata logos, connected LED taillights, and a relocated rear camera. It also gets four new colour options. Inside, the car features a new dual-tone theme with grey and blue seat upholstery, an updated climate control panel, and a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo.
