Tata Motors brought the updated Nexon SUV to the Indian market in September last year with a starting sticker price of Rs 8.10 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available for purchase in 11 different variants: Creative, Creative+, Creative+ S, Fearless, Fearless S, Fearless+ S, Pure, Pure S, Smart, Smart+, and Smart+ S, with exterior and internal design enhancements. In terms of market competition, the Nexon continues to compete with the Kia Sonet, the Mahindra XUV300, the Hyundai Venue, and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Since its debut five months back, the Nexon has been doing well in the sales charts. As a result of the growing demand, the car is experiencing a consistent increase in the waiting period.

At present, there is a maximum waiting period of 2 months (8 weeks) starting from the day of booking for the petrol versions of the Nexon. However, those willing to take home the diesel version of the SUV will have to wait 1 to 1.5 months (4 to 6 weeks) after placing their order. Nevertheless, the time frame stated above may vary based on the area, dealership, model, colour option, gearbox choice, and other aspects.

Tata Nexon: Powertrain Details

Under the hood, the Nexon SUV is available with two engine options: a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol. While the turbo-petrol unit develops 118bhp of maximum power and 170Nm of peak torque, the diesel motor gives out 260Nm of maximum torque and 113bhp of peak power. When it comes to the transmission duties, the turbo-petrol engine can be had with four different gearbox options: a six-speed AMT, a seven-speed DCT, a five-speed manual, and a six-speed manual. Conversely, the diesel engine can be equipped with any of the two gearbox configurations: a six-speed manual or a six-speed AMT.

Tata Motors extensively modified its subcompact SUV, living up to the 'facelift' moniker. With redesigned bumpers, bi-functional LED headlamps, and new sequential LED DRLs, the 2023 Nexon has an updated appearance. The side profile remains the same, save for the addition of new 16-inch alloy wheels with an aerodynamic design. But just like the front, the rear end has also seen major changes, getting a new bumper and a connected taillamp setup.

Tata Nexon: Interior and Safety Features

As for the features, the Nexon facelift includes a new digital instrument cluster, a two-spoke steering wheel, a wireless charger, a voice-activated sunroof, a height-adjustable and ventilated front seat, a new air conditioning panel, a 10.25-inch floating infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and more. Furthermore, the car's interior sports a dual-tone purple and black theme.

Six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assistance, a 360-degree camera with a blind spot monitor, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), automatic headlamps with rain-sensing wipers, ABS with EBD, and more are included in the safety equipment list of the 2023 Nexon facelift.

Tata Nexon Receives 5-Star Safety Rating

In the adult occupant tests, the mid-size SUV received 32.22 points out of 34, while in the child occupant tests, it got 44.52 points out of 49. Notably, frontal airbags, a seatbelt reminder, a belt load restriction, a side head curtain bag, and electronic stability control were all present in the test model.
