Tesla has rolled out an exchange offer of up to Rs 3 lakh on the Model Y for buyers who trade in their petrol or diesel cars. This move, as part of the brand's 'Switch and Save' programme, aims to boost sales of Tesla's sole model in the country while accelerating EV adoption. In addition, Tesla is offering the Model Y on EMIs starting at Rs 49,000 per month with a down payment of Rs 6 lakh, subject to terms and conditions.
According to Tesla, switching to the Model Y can help buyers save as much as Rs 20,000 per month on fuel and maintenance, compared to a similar premium petrol or diesel car driven about 1,500 km per month. With these savings, the effective monthly cost of owning a Model Y comes to around Rs 29,000.
