Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced that there will be a hike in the prices of its select models starting April 1, 2024. It said that it would enforce a hike of 1 per cent across certain variants of specific models, on the back of the escalating input costs and operational expenditures. This will be Toyota's second price hike, following an earlier price increase of up to Rs 42,000 across the Innova Hycross, Crysta, and Urban Cruiser Hyryder vehicles.

Speaking of Toyota models, the Innova Hycross will soon have a new top-spec non-hybrid variant in its lineup. Although the launch date is not known, market reports indicate that it will go on sale in the first week of April. Bookings for the new variant can be made through Toyota's official India website for a token amount of Rs 50,000. The new GX(O) non-hybrid will slot between the petrol-only GX grade and the powerful hybrid VX trim levels and will get a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol mill mated to a CVT automatic transmission.

Toyota Innova Hycross GX(O): Features, Price

In comparison to the existing GX model, the upcoming GX(O) will offer a slew of additional features such as front LED fog lamps, a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment panel, automatic climate control with an auto blower, and a 360-degree camera. Although the firm has yet to disclose the price of the Innova Hycross GX(O), expect it to retail at Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom). As of now, the premium MPV comes in GX, VX, VX(O), ZX, and ZX(O) trim levels.

Toyota Sales Performance in Feb. 2024

Toyota, in February 2024, registered total sales of 25,200 units, showing a YoY growth of 61 per cent from 15,685 units sold in the same month the previous year. 23,300 cars were delivered across India, while 1,920 units were exported to global markets. What's to note is that Toyota recorded its best-ever monthly sales in January 2024, with 24,609 vehicles sold in total. It was a staggering 92 per cent increase over the same month the previous year. In the first month of 2024, the automaker shipped 1,412 units to other countries and sold 23,197 vehicles domestically. Like before, the firm acknowledged that the Innova Hycross, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Innova Crysta, and Fortuner were among the best-selling models.

Speaking of the Toyota Fortuner, the SUV will renew its old rivalry with the Ford Endeavor (now in its third generation), likely to arrive on our market sometime in 2025.
