TVS Motor Company Clocks Domestic Sales Growth of 17% in July

As of July 2023, TVS Motor Company managed to sell 13,306 examples of the iQube electric scooter. In comparison, 6,304 scooters were sold during the corresponding month of last year.

At 3,25,997 units, TVS Motor Company has reported a 4 per cent rise in their overall sales in July 2023. The Chennai-based two- and three-wheeler manufacturer, in comparison, sold 3,14,639 vehicles during the corresponding month of last year. Out of 3,25,997 examples, over 2,35,000 two-wheelers were sold in the domestic market, with the rest exported to other regions of the world. In July this year, domestic two-wheelers posted a sales growth of 17 per cent, with domestic sales figures standing at 2,01,942 units in July 2022. Cumulatively, TVS clocked a 4 per cent growth in its sales of 3,12,307 two-wheelers in July 2023, as compared to 2,99,658 two-wheelers sold in the same month last year. 

Out of 3,12,307 two-wheelers, 1,53,942 motorcycles went on sale during the month of July this year as against 1,50,340 units in July 2022, registering a sales growth of 2 per cent.

Scooters, on the other hand, represented a growth of 5 per cent, with sales increasing from 1,16,500 units in July 2022 to 1,21, 941 units in July 2023. As for its three-wheelers, the company registered sales of 13,670 units in July 2023 in comparison to 14,981 units in July 2022.

As of July 2023, TVS Motor Company managed to sell 13,306 units of the iQube electric scooter. For the sake of comparison, the company sold 6,304 units during the same month last year. According to TVS, the electric offering has been receiving positive customer acceptance, and in related news, the company surpassed the milestone of selling 1.50 lakh iQube electric scooters within 43 months of its launch in January 2020 in India. This marks a remarkable feat for the company as the electric product took about 43 months (over 3.5 years) to cross the said milestone in India. The scooter is now available in more than 316 touchpoints across 196 Indian cities. Besides, it is also available in Nepal.   

In the Indian market, the iQube scooter takes on the likes of the Ather 450X, the Hero Vida V1, the Ola S1 Pro, and the Bajaj Chetak, among others.

TVS' Export Figures for July 2023

During July 2023, 89,213 units were exported to other parts of the world as opposed to 1,12,032 units shipped in July 2022. Meanwhile, the company's two-wheeler exports stand at 77,077 units in July this year.

Moreover, TVS Motor Company is expected to launch the much-anticipated Apache RTR 310 in India around the festive season. It is a naked version of the fully-faired Apache RR 310. The upcoming bike was spotted testing a couple of days ago, revealing a flat, single-piece handlebar, a twin-pod taillight design, a pronounced tyre hugger that houses the number plate and LED turn indicators, and more.
