If you know your cars and engines, you’ll understand how critical good engine oil is, especially for high-performance machines. To cater to such consumers, Shell India has launched an upgraded version of its premium engine oil, now called the Shell Helix Ultra and engineered to meet the advanced 2025 API SQ Standard. Along with the upgrade, Shell has also rebranded the packaging for a fresher, more attractive look.
Shell India claims that the new Helix Ultra delivers ultimate performance and protection, keeping engines powerful and responsive for longer. At the core of this upgrade is Shell’s PurePlus Technology, which transforms natural gas into 99.5% pure base oil. The results, according to Shell, include up to 1.8% more power, improved throttle response, 100% engine power retention, smoother drives, improved fuel economy, and better long-term engine health.

But the launch event wasn’t just about the new engine oil for the Indian market. Shell India created a full-blown fan zone with interactive games and even staged a live Ferrari pit stop demonstration. On the second day, the spotlight shifted to performance cars and the effectiveness of the Shell Helix Ultra. Partnering with BMW’s M division, Shell gave attendees an exclusive BMW M Motorsports driving experience, which was further amplified by a gymkhana session on a go-karting track, drifting displays, and plenty of smokey burnouts for added visual effect.
