The Hero Scrambler 440 is the scrambler version of the renowned Mavrick bike, and is expected to be launched in March next year. It should feature a rugged design, all-terrain capability, and refined performance, establishing itself as an adventure-inspired scrambler. This Scrambler shall go against the Royal Enfield Scram 440 and the Triumph Scrambler 400 X in its segment. Let’s delve into the anticipated key highlights of this upcoming Hero motorcycle.
The Hero Scrambler 440 is expected to be powered by the same 440cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine seen in the Harley-Davidson X440. This engine produces around 27bhp of peak power and 38 Nm of peak torque. It should be paired with a 6-speed gearbox for the power transmission task. Hero may slightly retune the engine for a stronger mid-range punch, linear throttle response, and moderate vibration levels.
This Hero bike shall be built on a steel tubular chassis and is likely to feature long-travel suspension. It should incorporate telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The bike is expected to ride on dual-purpose tyres mounted on spoked or alloy wheels, perhaps 17-inch in size. On the braking front, it shall have disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS.
The Hero Scrambler 440 is expected to have a wheelbase of around 1400-1420mm and a seat height of about 820mm. It shall have a kerb weight of nearly 190 kg. The ground clearance might be increased compared to the X440, likely to be around 180–190mm.
The available picture suggests that the Scrambler 440 will feature a more rugged and adventure-friendly design than its roadster sibling. It is likely to feature a round LED headlamp, wide handlebars, knuckle guards, and minimal front and rear fenders. An upswept exhaust for that classic scrambler appeal and tank grips for rugged identity are also visible in the image. Furthermore, it shall showcase a ribbed seat, aluminum bash plate, and earthy and matte finished paint shades.
This upcoming bike is expected to come with the following features:
The Hero Scrambler 440 is expected to be launched in early 2026 and could be priced between ₹2.5 lakh and ₹2.7 lakh (ex-showroom). It shall be positioned above the X440 and rival models like the Yezdi Scrambler and the Triumph Speed 400.
