Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Highlights
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 replaces the Thunderbird and Thunderbird X in the manufacturer’s line-up. However, it’s an entirely new model based on an all-new frame and, of course, a new engine. Moreover, it still comes across as a retro cruiser, which, despite having all-new underpinnings, looks very identical to the bike it replaces.
Exterior Details
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 looks quite identical to the Thunderbird and Thunderbird X. As for its dimensions, the bike is visually identical to its predecessors. It has a wheelbase of 1,400mm and a seat height of 765mm. Moreover, the fuel tank capacity is 15-litres.
Engine & Transmission
Powering the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is an all-new 349cc single-cylinder BS-VI compliant engine, which churns out 20.2bhp and 27Nm of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheel via a 5-speed manual gearbox. Lastly, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 mileage is said to be around 35km/l.
Handling
As for the mechanical hardware, the Meteor 350 rides on telescopic forks at the front and twin-tube emulsion shock absorbers with 6-step adjustable preload at the back. It is built around a twin downtube spine frame. Further, the 19-unch wheel at the front is shod with a 100/90 - 19 - 57P tyre, and the 17-inch wheel at the back is shod with a 140/70 - 17 - 66P tyre. The stopping power comes from a 300mm disc at the front and a 270mm disc at the rear.
Features
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 new model comes equipped with a semi-digital instrument cluster along with a separate pod for a coloured TFT display, which the company dubs as the ‘Tripper screen’. It shows turn-by-turn navigation, via Google maps data from the connected smartphone. Besides that, the bike gets retro fittings for the headlamp and taillamp. However, the headlamp gets a circular LED DRL to modernize things an extra bit. It also gets dual-channel ABS as a standard fitment across the range.
