<p>The current Yamaha India product line costs between Rs 79,600 and Rs 1.97 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. Yamaha Aerox 155 MotoGP Edition Launched in India at Rs 1.48 Lakh

At a price of Rs 1.48 lakh (ex-showroom), Yamaha has launched the Monster Energy MotoGP Edition of the Aerox 155 scooter. This new special edition model is now outfitted with a Class D headlight, which provides better light distribution and improved road visibility.

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/yamaha/" target="_blank">Yamaha</a> has announced a price hike for select products in its India portfolio, including the brand's flagship scooter, which has witnessed a price hike of Rs 2,000, bringing its price up to Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom). It should be noted that the last price hike for the scooter was announced just a month ago.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Similarly, the disc-brake-equipped versions of the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/yamaha/fascino-125/">Fascino </a>and the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/yamaha/ray-zr-125/">RayZR Hybrid</a> have received a marginal price hike of Rs 500. After the price hike, the Fascino Hybrid now costs between Rs 83,630 and Rs 85,630. Meanwhile, the RayZR Hybrid will now cost between Rs 83,930 and Rs 87,930.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Coming to motorcycles, the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/yamaha/mt-15/">MT-15</a> has received a price hike of Rs 2,000. The MT-15 now costs&nbsp;Rs 1.61 lakh (ex-showroom) for the black colour option and Rs 1.62 lakh (ex-showroom) for other colour options.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The prices of the entire FZ range and the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/yamaha/fz-x/">FZ-X</a> motorcycle have gone up by Rs 1,000. With the new hike, the FZ-FI range now starts at Rs 1.12 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 1.23 lakh (ex-showroom). Similarly, the FZ-X is now priced at Rs 1.31 lakh (ex-showroom).&nbsp;The&nbsp;<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/yamaha/yzf-r15-v4/">R15 V4</a> gets a minor price hike of Rs 500 across all variants. This excludes the 60th-anniversary edition, whose price has now gone up by Rs 900. The R15 V4 range will now set you back between Rs 1.77 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 1.88 lakh (ex-showroom).</p>

Yamaha announces price hike of upto Rs 2,000 on select products in India

Yamaha has announced a price hike ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 2,000 on its products in India. Products like the Fascino and the RayZR Hybrid get the most little hike of Rs 500, while the brand's flagship scooter, Aerox 155 gets a price hike of Rs 2,000.

<p>Eishin Chihana has been appointed the new Chairman of Yamaha Motor India. Eishin has been a&nbsp;part of Yamaha Motors for three decades now. His experience includes managing sales of not only motorcycles but also ATVs, marine engines, personal watercrafts, and generators in international markets.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chihana has been part of Yamaha Group since 1991 and has looked after sales, marketing, and business management. Part of his role also included motorcycle business operations in markets such as Europe, North America, Africa, the Middle East,&nbsp;and ASEAN.</p>

<p>Commenting on his new role as Chairman at Yamaha Motor India, Eishin Chihana said, ‘I am very excited to lead Yamaha Motor in the world’s largest two-wheeler market. India is a diverse country with a huge customer base and immense potential. Also, with the majority of its population comprising the youth, it gives us the opportunity to penetrate the market by meeting their evolving expectations through Yamaha’s leading technological advancements and engineering prowess.’</p>

Yamaha India appoints Eishin Chihana as the new Chairman

On Thursday, the Japanese motorcycle maker announced the appointment of a new Chairman. Eishin Chihana takes charge of the Yamaha Motor India Group as the new Chairman. Read more below.

<p><strong>The Yamaha Aerox 155 can now be had with a new skin. Alongside the Grey and Blue colour options, Yamaha India will now retail the maxi-scooter in a new Black colour option as well.</strong></p>

<p>Yamaha recently introduced the Aerox 155 maxi-scooter in India, which was available in two colour schemes – the Racing Blue and Grey Vermillion. Now, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/yamaha/">Yamaha</a> has added one more colour into the mix. The Yamaha Aerox 155 can now be had in the Metallic Black colour scheme as well.</p>

<p>The new colour option has been added at no extra cost. The maxi-scooter continues to retail for Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom).</p>

<p>The new colour scheme includes a mix of black and white, with graphics on the apron and rear cowl. The front mudguard is finished in gloss white.</p>

<p>Mechanically, there are no changes. The engine is the same 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor, also which powers the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/yamaha/yzf-r15-v4/">Yamaha R15 V4</a>. The unit is, however, detuned to make only 14.8bhp at 8,000rpm and 13.9Nm at 6,500rpm. The features on offer are Bluetooth connectivity for the rider’s smartphone, an all-LED headlamp, and an all-digital instrument cluster.</p>

<p>The scooter mainly rivals the likes of the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/aprilia/sxr-160/">Aprilia SXR 160</a>, which was the only maxi-scooter on sale in India until a few months ago. The Aerox 155 is now eating into Aprilia SXR 160’s market share, given the former's&nbsp;impressive price tag and enough equipment on offer.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/yamaha/aerox-155/">Aerox 155</a> has been attracting new customers lately, but the manufacturer is finding it difficult to deliver scooters to customers in some cities of India, which has resulted in a drastic increase in the waiting period.</p>

<p>What makes the Aerox 155 a highly desirable scooter is the fact that it's powered by the same 155cc fuel-injected&nbsp;liquid-cooled Blue Core engine that powers the R15. Equipped with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) and a CVT automatic gearbox, the four-valve motor develops&nbsp;14.8bhp @&nbsp;8,000rpm and 13.9Nm of peak torque @&nbsp;6,500rpm. The scooter also comes with a Smart Motor Generator System for silent&nbsp;starts.</p>

<p>The Aerox 155 rides on 14-inch wheels and offers a 26mm&nbsp;telescopic front fork and dual-spring suspension for the rear, while braking is managed by a single-channel ABS-equipped 230mm disc at the front. A 145mm ground clearance also ensures good urban usability even with a pillion rider onboard.</p>

<p><strong>Yamaha India will step into the high-capacity scooter segment with the all-new Aerox 155, which will compete against the Aprilia SXR 160, Vespa VXL 150, and Vespa SXL 150.</strong></p>

The Japanese two-wheeler maker has now released one more teaser confirming that Yamaha will also launch the Aerox 155 in India, alongside the new YZF-R15 M. The launch will be held on Yamaha’s online platform.</p>

<p>The Aerox 155 scooter uses the same engine as the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/yamaha/yzf-r15-v3/">Yamaha YZF-R15</a> but in a different state of tune. The engine is mated to a CVT, and the power output is marked at 14.7bhp (3bhp less than the YZF-R15). Despite the lower power output, the Aerox 155 still produces 4bhp more than the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/aprilia/sxr-160/">Aprilia SXR 160</a>. The kerb weight of the Aerox is 122kgs, which is 6kg less than that of the SXR 160.</p>

<p>The scooter gets an all-digital instrument cluster, and we’re expecting it to be equipped with the Bluetooth connected tech, which is available on other Yamaha products.</p>

<p>The Yamaha Aerox will be positioned in the same segment as the Aprilia SXR 160 and will have similar pricing. The Aerox 155&nbsp;will also be in close proximity to the Vespa VXL and the SXL 150 in terms of pricing.</p>
