Yamaha Aerox 155 India launch tomorrow

Yamaha India will step into the high-capacity scooter segment with the all-new Aerox 155, which will compete against the Aprilia SXR 160, Vespa VXL 150, and Vespa SXL 150.

Recently, it was reported that the Yamaha YZF-R15 M will be launched in India on September 21, 2021. The Japanese two-wheeler maker has now released one more teaser confirming that Yamaha will also launch the Aerox 155 in India, alongside the new YZF-R15 M. The launch will be held on Yamaha’s online platform.

The Aerox 155 scooter uses the same engine as the Yamaha YZF-R15 but in a different state of tune. The engine is mated to a CVT, and the power output is marked at 14.7bhp (3bhp less than the YZF-R15). Despite the lower power output, the Aerox 155 still produces 4bhp more than the Aprilia SXR 160. The kerb weight of the Aerox is 122kgs, which is 6kg less than that of the SXR 160.

The scooter gets an all-digital instrument cluster, and we’re expecting it to be equipped with the Bluetooth connected tech, which is available on other Yamaha products.

The Yamaha Aerox will be positioned in the same segment as the Aprilia SXR 160 and will have similar pricing. The Aerox 155 will also be in close proximity to the Vespa VXL and the SXL 150 in terms of pricing.
