Yamaha Aerox 155 maxi scooter launched at Rs 1.29 lakh

With 14.8bhp on tap, the Yamaha Aerox 155 is officially the most powerful scooter you can buy in India!

Alongside the R15 V4.0 and R15 M, Yamaha has also launched the much-awaited Aerox 155 premium maxi-scooter in India today, which is priced at ₹1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The scooter goes on sale via Yamaha's Blue Square showrooms and will be available to customers by the end of this month. There are two colour options on offer – Racing Blue and Grey Vermillion – but those looking for extra visual appeal can also opt for the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition of the Aerox 155.

What makes the Aerox 155 a highly desirable scooter is the fact that it's powered by the same 155cc fuel-injected liquid-cooled Blue Core engine that powers the R15. Equipped with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) and a CVT automatic gearbox, the four-valve motor develops 14.8bhp @ 8,000rpm and 13.9Nm of peak torque @ 6,500rpm. The scooter also comes with a Smart Motor Generator System for silent starts.

The Aerox 155 rides on 14-inch wheels and offers a 26mm telescopic front fork and dual-spring suspension for the rear, while braking is managed by a single-channel ABS-equipped 230mm disc at the front. A 145mm ground clearance also ensures good urban usability even with a pillion rider onboard.

In terms of features & ergonomics, the Aerox 155 offers Yamaha's Bluetooth-enabled Y-Connect app connectivity, a 5.8-inch LCD instrument cluster, LED headlamp and taillamp, 24.5 litres of under-seat storage, a 5.5-litre fuel tank, and an external fuel filler cap for convenient refuelling.

The Aerox 155 will lock horns with the Aprilia SXR 160.
