Yamaha MT 15 Highlights
The Yamaha MT-15 is, essentially, the naked version of the YZF-R15. Where the R15 focuses on track performance more than practicality, the MT-15 focuses more on practicality, thanks to its raised handlebar and a more conventional riding position. The MT-15, too, just like its fully-faired sibling, comes loaded with all the modern bells and whistles, but it only gets single-channel ABS compared to the dual-channel unit from the R15.
Exterior Details
The Yamaha MT-15 is a super aggressive and hyper naked version of the track-focused R15. Coming to the dimensions, the MT-15 is 2,020mm in length, 800mm in width, and 1,070mm in height. It has a ground clearance of 155mm and a kerb weight of 138kg. The fuel tank can hold a maximum of 10-litres.
Engine & Transmission
The Yamaha MT-15 comes powered by a 155cc single-cylinder motor, which produces 19bhp of power and 14.7Nm of torque. The liquid-cooled engine comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Moreover, the Yamaha MT-15 mileage is rated at 45km/l.
Handling
The Yamaha MT-15 comes fitted with a 100/80-17 M/C 52P section tyre at the front and a 140/70-17 M/C 66H section tyre at the rear. The braking power comes from a 282mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear. The bike is built around a Deltabox frame while it rides on a telescopic forks suspension setup at the front and a swingarm suspension at the back.
Features
The Yamaha MT-15 new model is no slouch in terms of equipment when compared to its similarly priced rivals. The headlamp of the MT-15 is a full LED unit and the tail lamp is also an LED. The instrument cluster is a fully digital unit, which houses various information such as the speedometer, odometer, trip meters, and tachometer. In terms of safety, single-channel ABS is offered as part of the standard safety equipment.
