<h2>Lexus LX 700h: What's New?</h2>

<p>The new&nbsp;LX 700h has LX 600's 3.4-litre&nbsp;V-6 twin-turbo engine, an electric motor (positioned between the engine and transmission),&nbsp;and&nbsp;a nickel-metal hydride battery. This innovative hybrid system is said to&nbsp;deliver an incredible 457bhp and 790Nm (preliminary figures). Power is distributed to all four wheels via a&nbsp;10-speed automatic transmission.&nbsp;According to Lexus,&nbsp;the SUV's&nbsp;hybrid system is the first to have&nbsp;a starter and an alternator.&nbsp;If the hybrid system fails,&nbsp;the starter enables the engine to start on its own,&nbsp;while the alternator charges the 12-volt auxiliary battery, allowing the car to continue running without the hybrid system.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The LX 700h hybrid (2,780 kg) weighs 120 kg more than the LX 600.&nbsp;It keeps LX's off-road capabilities,&nbsp;including Active Height Control, Active Traction Control, and the Lo-range transfer case.&nbsp;The SUV's high-voltage battery&nbsp;lies beneath the cargo section alongside&nbsp;the repositioned 12V auxiliary battery.&nbsp;They are placed in a waterproof tray&nbsp;with a water sensor, enabling the car to wade through water as deep as 700mm.</p>

<p>In addition, Lexus has improved the GA-F architecture.&nbsp;Low-frequency vibrations are now reduced thanks to the revamped cab mount cushions,&nbsp;while the improved AVS system and Lo-transfer case contribute to the ride quality.
