This Mahindra car is equipped with a BS6 compliant, 2184 cc (22.2L) m-Hawk engine having four inline cylinders with four valves per cylinder operated by a dual overhead camshaft. This diesel-fuelled engine is mated with a six-speed manual transmission and puts out a maximum power of 130bhp at 3750 rpm and a peak torque of 300 Nm at 1600 rpm. The ARAI claimed mileage of the Scorpio classic is 15km/l. Having a fuel tank capacity of 60 litres, it delivers a driving range of 900 km.
The suspension system of this vehicle includes hydraulic shock absorbers, a double wishbone type independent front coil spring, and a multi-link coil spring rear suspension with an antiroll bar. Furthermore, it has a tachometer, electronic multi-trip meter, digital clock, glove compartment, roof lamp, antiglare rear-view mirror, and height adjustability in the driver seat.
The Scorpio Classic interior also encompasses power windows, a heater, a 12V accessory power socket, adjustable headrests, rear AC vents, and cup holders in the front and rear armrests. The entertainment features in the cabin boast an integrated 2DIN audio system with front and rear speakers, radio, and USB and auxiliary input facility.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic Safety Features
This SUV has been provided with an antilock braking system and an electronic brake force distribution system which together help to keep the vehicle stable and skid resistant during speed driving and sudden braking. In addition, it is equipped with dual airbags for front seat occupants, rear parking sensors, auto door-lock feature, speed alert indicator, rear seat belts, and seat-belt reminder lamp for diver and co-driver.
