Mahindra XUV Aero
Change CarMahindra XUV Aero Preview
Mahindra first showcased the XUV Aero nearly two years back at the 2016 Auto Expo. Recent rumours suggest, that the company is working to bring it into production later this year. The XUV Aero is a coupe version of Mahindra’s popular SUV – much like the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. While at the front, the XUV Aero looks identical to its namesake, at the back is where it stands out from most other SUVs in the business. The car gets its name from the aerodynamic styling with the roofline flowing smoothly into the coupe-esque backside. The other most easily noticeable change from the standard XUV is the rear hinged doors – something that may not make it into the production version.
At the heart, the XUV Aero is expected to be fitted with the same engine options as the XUV5OO. Currently, the XUV5OO comes with a 2.2-litre petrol as well as a 2.0-litre and a 2.2-litre diesel mill. The XUV Aero, however, is likely to go on sale only in the diesel trim to start with. Mahindra is expected to showcase the near-production model at the 2018 Auto Expo. We will get exact details and specifications of the car then.
If Mahindra does launch the XUV Aero, it will be the most affordable SUV-coupe on sale. Expect it to carry a price tag of around Rs 22-25 lakhs.
