The Ignis continues to include a tilt steering wheel, start/stop ignition button, automatic climate control, auto ORVMs, and a 7-inch infotainment touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.</p>

<p>On the mechanical front, the Ignis remains unchanged. It is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out&nbsp;82bhp of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque. It&nbsp;is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.&nbsp;To comply with upcoming RDE regulations, however, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/" target="_blank">Maruti Suzuki</a> has updated this engine. <p>The Maruti Suzuki <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/ignis/" target="_blank">Ignis</a> has received a uniform price increase of Rs 27,000. The hatchback comes in four variants: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha.&nbsp;Overall, the Ignis manual variants now cost&nbsp;between Rs 5.82 lakh and Rs 7.59 lakh, while the automatic variants cost&nbsp;between Rs 6.91 and Rs 8.14 lakh. 2023 Maruti Suzuki Ignis Launched in India at Rs 5.82 Lakh

The updated Ignis was recently launched by Maruti Suzuki for the 2023 model year. The car costs Rs 5.82 lakh (ex-showroom) and has an RDE-compliant engine. A 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that now complies with BS6 Phase-II norms powers the 2023 Ignis.

<p><b>Maruti Suzuki has updated the second-from-top Zeta variant of the Ignis with its second-generation Smartplay Studio infotainment system,&nbsp;raising the price of the Zeta variant by Rs 8,520.</b></p>

<p>Maruti Suzuki may not have very many new cars for market launch in this calendar year (apart from the S-Cross petrol that’s due tomorrow), but that’s not going to stop the company from refreshing its model line-up. It’s along these lines that Maruti has launched the updated Ignis with its second-generation infotainment system in the Zeta variant. Buyers for the Zeta variant will benefit from this upgrade, as the system was earlier only offered the in the top-end Alpha variant. Earlier, the Zeta and Delta variants were equipped with a double-DIN stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.</p>

<p>Referred to as the Smartplay Studio infotainment system, it has a few features more than the previous version, including bold and bright icons. The system features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The previous system’s brilliant voice command feature is done away by the new unit. Instead, the new system relies on smartphone connectivity for voice commands, which isn't as good. Regardless, it’s designed to have a few other hands-on features that are designed to make the system more intuitive.</p>

<p>The updated Maruti Suzuki Ignis BS6 with the new infotainment system in the Alpha variant was launched on the 18<sup>th</sup> of February, just after the 2020 Auto Expo. As a result of the latest&nbsp;update, prices of the Ignis Zeta and Zeta AMT have gone up by Rs 8,520. The rest of the price list for the Ignis remains the same as it was at the time of launch, with prices ranging between Rs 4.89 lakh and Rs 7.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). &nbsp;In BS6 guise, the Ignis is available as a petrol-only model with a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and the choice between a five-speed manual and AMT gearboxes.</p>

<p>Having showcased the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ignis at the 2020 Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki has now launched the car with a BS6 compliant petrol engine. The engine in question is of course the Ignis’ 1.2 litre, four cylinder petrol engine that has been available in BS6 guise for quite some time now in other Maruti Suzuki models that received the BS6 update earlier. The job of this face-lift was to make the Ignis have a stronger road presence with a more crossover esque appeal, and on that account, you would have to say that its job done for Maruti Suzuki, for the new car with its chunky front grille and aggressive front faux skid plate and roof rails does have a more in-your-face design. Around the back, the updated Ignis gets the faux skid plate treatment for its rear bumper as well, which helps give it more road presence due to the large design element. The car gets two new colour options - Lucent Orange and Turquoise Blue. The updated Ignis also gets Maruti Suzuki’s Smartplay Studio infotainment system, apart from this, the interiors remain much the same as the earlier car’s.</p>

<p>Mechanically, the updated Ignis remains identical to its predecessor&nbsp;with the option of a five-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed AMT.</p>

<p>Speaking at the launch,&nbsp;Kenichi Ayukawa, MD &amp; CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “IGNIS enjoys a special place in the Maruti Suzuki NEXA portfolio and has been appreciated for its peppy drivability and spacious interiors. <p>India's largest carmaker <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/">Maruti Suzuki</a> has updated its compact hatchback Ignis for 2019. While there are no dimensional or mechanical changes, the 2019 Ignis gains a couple of new safety features. The list of added safety features includes a Reverse-Parking Assist, a seatbelt reminder and also a high-speed alert system. These safety features, in any case, are a part of the list which will become mandatory for all new cars sold in India from April 2019. The remaining safety tech, like dual front airbags, ABS and EBD, seat belt pre-tensioners and ISOFIX child seat mounts are already available on the Ignis as standard equipment, ever since its launch. Maruti Suzuki also claims that the Ignis has already passed the frontal offset and side-impact crash tests successfully, making it ready for the future. To add visual appeal, the Zeta and Alpha variants now come with roof rails.</p>

<p>At the launch of the 2019 Ignis, Mr R S Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) at Maruti Suzuki India, said, 'Today, Ignis has changed the way customers look at the premium compact segment. The Ignis has established itself as a complete package for those who seek the unconventional. Taking passenger safety to next level, we have loaded Ignis with more safety features. These will be offered as standard across all variants. To enhance the design of Ignis and give it a strong road presence, new roof rails are offered in Zeta and Alpha variants. We are confident that the updated version of Ignis will be even more attractive for the premium urban car user.'</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/ignis/">Ignis</a> continues to be powered by Maruti's 1.2-litre VVT petrol motor, which develops 82bhp and 113nm of torque. Except for the base Sigma variant, all other variants of the Ignis (Delta, Zeta and Alpha) are available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.</p>

Maruti Suzuki Ignis updated for 2019

India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has updated its compact hatchback Ignis for 2019. While there are no dimensional or mechanical changes, the 2019 Ignis gains a couple of new safety features.

<p><strong>With the addition of automatic gearbox in the top-end Alpha trim, the Ignis gets the auto box option in all but the base Sigma trim. </strong></p>

<p>Maruti Suzuki has launched the Ignis Alpha with Auto Gear Shift (AGS) - for both petrol and diesel engines. The former is priced at Rs. 7.01 lakh, while the diesel will cost Rs. 8.08 lakh - both ex-showroom, Delhi.</p>

<p>The Ignis was launched earlier in 2017, and is sold through Maruti’s NEXA dealerships. While the AGS (Maruti’s terminology for Automated Manual Transmission - AMT) has been available on the Ignis since its launch - until now it was only limited to the middle-spec Delta and Zeta variants of the hatchback.</p>

<p>Making the automatic gearbox available on a wider range of variants on the Ignis comes as a response to the growing penetration of automatic hatchbacks in the country. Maruti was the first company to make the AMT technology mainstream in mass market cars, thus making the auto transmission cars more accessible. This, coupled with the ever increasing traffic congestion, has only helped the two-peddled car sales surge. According to Maruti - the AGS versions of the Ignis account for a considerable 27 per cent of the total monthly sales.</p>

<p>With modern hatchbacks coming equipped with generous equipment levels in their top-spec trims, the buyers are more inclined towards buying the fully-spec'd version the car. Therefore, it makes sense for Maruti to cater those who demand an automatic Ignis with all the available bells and whistles on-board. For instance, the Alpha trim of the Ignis gets standard equipment like a touchscreen infotainment system with voice command, reverse camera, automatic climate control, driver seat height adjust, and LED DRLs.</p>

<p>The Ignis is powered by Maruti’s ubiquitous 1.2-litre K-series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS turbo-diesel engines. In their AMT avatars, the petrol returns 20.89 km/l, whereas the diesel is capable of returning 26.80 km/l - both of which are similar to their manual gearbox counterparts.</p>

<p>Just a few weeks back, Maruti Suzuki also gave a <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/maruti-suzuki-baleno-automatic-launched-in-alpha-variant/">similar treatment</a> to its Baleno premium hatchback, by launching the top-spec Alpha trim with an automatic transmission. However, unlike Ignis’ AMT, the Baleno gets a CVT automatic gearbox. &nbsp;</p>

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Ignis Alpha with Auto Gear Shift (AGS) - for both petrol and diesel engines. The former is priced at Rs. 7.01 lakh, while the diesel will cost Rs. 8.08 lakh - both ex-showroom, Delhi.
