Mercedes-Benz C-Coupe Highlights
The AMG line-up from Mercedes-Benz has always been known for performance just before anything else. With the C 43 Coupe in the manufacturer’s line-up, it’s the first AMG-spec model to accompany the latest C-Class in the Indian market.
Even though it’s based entirely on the C-Class platform, the C Coupe, as its name suggests, gets a sloping coupe-like roofline for a sportier appeal. Moreover, the ‘43’ suffix indicates this AMG is tuned to deliver its performance in a more civilized and accessible manner. So, is the Mercedes-Benz C Coupe price worth a dime over the standard C-Class? Read on as we find out.
As its AMG-insignia suggests, the C 43 Coupe gets an additional dose of aggression over the standard C-Class it’s based on. The front-end is replete with a twin-louvre AMG radiator grille which flanks the chunky LED headlamps. The broad shoulders and massive feels filled with AMG-spec alloy wheels add a touch of sportiness to the profile.
But it’s really the sloping roofline that makes the Mercedes-Benz C Coupe new model all the more desirable. The sloping roofline neatly merges into the boot followed by a spoiler. The wraparound LED taillamps are extremely beautiful, but it’s the quad exhaust pipes that make the rear-end quite sporty.
The Mercedes-Benz C Coupe variants are as follows: 43 AMG. As for the equipment, you get an AMG-spec leather-wrapped steering wheel with a host of controls, a fully-digital instrument cluster, electrically-adjustable driver seat with memory function, heated seats for the driver and front passenger, dual-zone climate control, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, which can be operated via a touchpad with a controller, keyless go with keyless entry, ambient lighting, and much more.
You do get a host of options to customise the interior trim of the C Coupe, which, in return, will affect the overall Mercedes-Benz C Coupe on-road price. You sit facing an AMG-spec three-spoke steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather, followed by a fully-digital 12.3-inch digital cluster.
You also get AMG-spec racy sport seats that gel well with the overall personality of the car. The 10.25-inch screen is placed in the centre, but it is not a touchscreen and can be only operated through a dedicated touchpad with a controller, which falls perfectly in hand at the centre tunnel.
Engine Specifications & Performance
The Mercedes-Benz C Coupe is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, which is tuned to churn out a healthy 385bhp and 520Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 9-Speed TCT AMG Speedshift transmission as standard. The power is sent to all four wheels via the company’s 4MATIC All-Wheel-Drive system. The C 43 AMG can reach the 100km/h in a mere 4.7s from a standstill. The top-speed, however, is electronically limited to 250km/h.
