Porsche Cayenne Coupe Highlights
Normally, manufacturers would add a sloping roofline to its already successful SUV – and kill the rear-seat headroom in the process – and call it a coupe-SUV. For what essentially was touted as an ungainly form of an automobile at first, these coupe-SUVs quickly gained traction amongst the potential consumers.
Porsche’s first attempt in this space is the Cayenne Coupe, the car you see above. Based on the standard Cayenne, the Coupe not just gains a sloping roofline, but also it has a few tricks up its sleeves. Read on.
Sure, most of the elements in the Porsche Cayenne Coupe new model have been borrowed from the standard Cayenne, but the carmaker has made sure one would not mistake the Coupe derivative for the standard model. The talking point about the car’s exterior, then, has to be sloping roofline, which neatly merges into the rear. And it looks rather striking too. For the extra price, Porsche Cayenne Coupe sure looks enticing and luring. It sits lower than the standard Cayenne and has a wider track as well, all the more adding to that sporty ‘Coupe’ look.
The Porsche Cayenne Coupe variants are as follows: Base and Turbo. Some of the standard additions include 20-inch alloy wheels, projector headlamps with LEDs, LED taillamps, Electronic parking brake, Automatic hold function, Porsche Hill Control (PHC), Anti-lock brake system (ABS), and Multi-collision brake.
Moreover, it also gets 4-zone climate control, Front sports seats (8-way electrically adjustable) with integrated headrests, Cruise control with speed limiter, Warn and Brake Assist, Keyless engine start, Instrument cluster with two high-resolution displays, Multifunction sports steering wheel with gearshift paddles, Fabric roof lining, Ambient lighting, Sound system with 10 speakers, total output 150 watts, and Connect Plus infotainment including Apple CarPlay.
In typical Porsche style, the quality of the materials, the fit-and-finish of just about anything inside just feels impeccable. The driver sits facing an analogue rev counter, which is flanked by two digital displays to carry out the rest of the instrumentation. The massive infotainment system is slick and offers crisp graphics. The whole of the centre console is dominated by screens, where the lower screen serves as a controller for the climate controls.
The car we tested in our review had retro black and white tartan black seats, which were incredibly supportive and upped the ante for the overall interiors. Sure, it might be a stretch over the Porsche Cayenne Coupe on-road price, but the difference was just sensational.
Engine Specifications & Performance
The Porsche Cayenne Coupe comes with two engine options. The entry-level engine is a 3.0-litre V6 petrol, which develops 335bhp and 450Nm of torque. There’s also a 4.0-litre V8, which is capable of churning out 541bhp and 770Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission as a standard fit..
