Porsche test driver Lars Kern completed the lap around the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 6 minutes 55.533 seconds. Developed with track driving in mind, the optional package brings upgrades to the Taycan Turbo GT’s powertrain, aerodynamics and chassis setup. The extra power gives the Taycan stronger acceleration on long straights and better pace through fast sections of the Nurburgring.</p><p>Aerodynamics play a major role in the new setup. The Manthey Kit adds a larger rear wing, redesigned rear diffuser, larger underbody air dams and carbon aerodiscs for the rear wheels. Porsche says these upgrades increase downforce from 95kg to 310kg at 200kph. At the Taycan’s top speed of 310kph, total downforce rises to 740kg, helping the car stay planted through fast corners.</p><p>

The 911 GT3 S/C is the sole open-top 911 offered strictly as a two-seater. It also gets an optional Street Style Package&nbsp;for customisation. That said, the company reaffirmed its focus on expanding&nbsp;its BEV lineup while moving forward with plans for a new two-door sports car.&nbsp;However, under new leadership, Porsche’s plans for an electric 718&nbsp;now appear uncertain. If Porsche decides to cancel the launch of the electric 718 Cayman&nbsp;and Boxster despite the PPE Sport platform being almost ready,&nbsp;it would face a highly complex engineering challenge.</p><p>For those unaware, the 718 is built from the ground up as an electric car, with its battery pack serving as a key part of the car’s structure.&nbsp;This makes it impossible to simply replace the battery with an ICE engine.&nbsp;To continue the lineage with internal combustion engines, Porsche would need&nbsp;a ‘major reverse-engineering’ effort, which comprises rebuilding key parts of the car, like the rear structure and frame supports, among others. A revised rear diffuser with longer fins improves stability, while carbon-fibre discs on the rear wheels help reduce drag during fast circuit runs.</p><p>
