The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with the optional Manthey Kit has set a new Nurburgring record for production electric executive cars. Porsche test driver Lars Kern completed the lap around the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 6 minutes 55.533 seconds. That makes the Taycan Turbo GT around nine seconds faster than the BYD Yangwang U9 Xtreme. Developed with track driving in mind, the optional package brings upgrades to the Taycan Turbo GT’s powertrain, aerodynamics and chassis setup. Porsche used the Nurburgring as the main development ground for the package, focusing on improving stability, grip and high-speed performance around one of the toughest circuits in the world.

Unlike previous Manthey-developed Porsche kits, this package also includes changes to the electric powertrain. Porsche revised the battery management system, pulse inverters and control unit. These updates help the Taycan Turbo GT deliver stronger performance during aggressive driving and repeated high-speed laps.

With the Manthey Kit installed, the Taycan Turbo GT produces 804bhp and 1,270Nm of torque, which is 27bhp and 30Nm more than the standard car. Porsche has also upgraded the 10-second Attack Mode feature, with the temporary power boost increasing from 161bhp to 174bhp. The extra power gives the Taycan stronger acceleration on long straights and better pace through fast sections of the Nurburgring.
Aerodynamics play a major role in the new setup. The Manthey Kit adds a larger rear wing, redesigned rear diffuser, larger underbody air dams and carbon aerodiscs for the rear wheels. Porsche says these upgrades increase downforce from 95kg to 310kg at 200kph. At the Taycan’s top speed of 310kph, total downforce rises to 740kg, helping the car stay planted through fast corners.

The package also includes revised suspension tuning, recalibrated steering and updates to the all-wheel drive system and rear differential. The Taycan Turbo GT rides on 21-inch forged wheels with wider Pirelli tyres and larger brake discs measuring 440mm at the front and 410mm at the rear. Carbon-fibre parts on the front lip, side skirts and wheel arch vents further improve airflow while reducing weight.
