Ducati has introduced the 2026 Hypermotard V2 at EICMA 2025 in Milan, marking the next phase for its supermoto-inspired motorcycle line-up. The model replaces the outgoing Hypermotard 950 and debuts an 890cc V-twin engine that represents a major shift in the company’s engineering direction. Ducati has replaced its traditional desmodromic valve system with a conventional sprung valve arrangement, a decision aimed at aligning with the brand’s newer V-twin platform used across multiple models. This transition simplifies manufacturing processes, enables shared component use, and improves long-term efficiency across middleweight products.

The new Hypermotard V2 will join the brand’s 2026 line-up, extending the series with a modern engine platform and revised structural design.
The 2026 Hypermotard V2 features a redesigned chassis for improved handling and reduced overall weight. Ducati has moved from the steel trellis frame to an aluminium monocoque structure that incorporates the engine as a stressed component. The setup is complemented by a Panigale V4-style aluminium swingarm, together reducing weight by nearly 13 kilograms compared to its predecessor.

This framework supports more neutral cornering characteristics and enhanced rider stability across urban and circuit environments. The lighter construction also improves the bike’s agility while maintaining composure at higher speeds.
In terms of rider technology, the new Hypermotard V2 introduces a comprehensive electronic suite guided by a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). The system includes multiple ride modes, traction control, wheelie control, and cornering ABS, supported by engine brake control.

Information is displayed through a 5-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster. Brembo radial-mounted calipers work with dual 320mm front discs for braking performance, while Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres complete the setup. The SP variant adds Ohlins suspension and forged alloy wheels for further weight savings.
Power comes from the new 890cc L-twin engine producing 118bhp and 94Nm of torque. The powertrain uses variable valve timing for flexible delivery, with about 70 percent of torque available from 3,000rpm.

Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 enables clutchless shifting, and shorter final gearing enhances response. The unit meets Euro 5+ emission standards, positioning it for multiple global markets.
