The all-new V-Strom 800DE is arriving with an engine similar to GSX-8S. From long travel suspension to rugged spoke-style wheels, the model has been revealed with a host of features.

Suzuki unveiled a middleweight adventure tourer bike, the V-Strom 800DE at EICMA 2022. In Suzuki’s international range, the latest model will find its position between 650XT & 1050XT. It boasts a similar engine to GSX-8S, also unveiled at EICMA 2022.

The engine ready to power V-Strom 800DE is a parallel twin 776cc DOHC unit, producing 82bhp at 8,500rpm and 78Nm peak torque at 6,800rpm. The model boasts a higher power output compared to the GSX-8S because of a more traditional exhaust system. Four valves are added to each cylinder, and Suzuki claims the engine's 270-degree crankshaft will render high levels of torque along with good traction for off-road driving.

V-Strom 800DE features vertically stacked twin-LED headlights up front with a short beak beneath them. Many aesthetic ideas from this new middleweight adventure bike's older sibling, the Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE, are used on it. The V-Strom 800DE embraces the same steel frame as its recently announced sibling, but its subframe has been stretched and strengthened to support the weight of a passenger and luggage in addition to the extra load. There are some major changes from the GSX-8S like redesigned and longer aluminium swingarm besides a larger 20-litre fuel tank.

Thanks to Showa, the model gets an adjustable front fork along with a monoshock having remote preload control for the suspension system. Ground clearance, front and rear suspension travel, all three measure 220mm. The 21/17-inch wire-spoke wheels covered in dual-purpose Dunlop Mixtour rubber further increase the vehicle's off-road skills. Two 310mm front discs with four-piston floating callipers and a 260mm rear disc with a single-piston calliper are used for braking. Dual-channel ABS is included as standard, and the rear ABS can be turned off if necessary.

This bike's traction control features a specific Gravel mode that reduces power. It also receives the same set of electronic rider aids as the GSX-8S, all of which are managed through the similar 5.0-inch colour TFT dash. The V-Strom 800DE will be available in three colours namely grey, yellow and black. Apart from this, the model will possess crash protection, a USB charging port, a unique windscreen, a centre stand and a lot more in terms of accessories. However, any update regarding its launch in India is not shared by the firm.
