In response to concerns about engine issues, Aprilia has extended the standard warranty on its India-built RS 457 and Tuono 457 motorcycles. The Italian manufacturer recently increased the coverage to four years/48,000 km, up from the earlier three years/36,000 km, following feedback from customers. The Italian bikemaker explained that most of the reported problems were linked to unauthorised modifications and irregular servicing, adding: 'Most issues result from aftermarket alterations and skipped maintenance. Genuine cases were promptly addressed to minimise inconvenience.'

The updated warranty terms are now available on Aprilia’s official website. The extended warranty is also transferable to new owners, which may help build customer trust and slightly boost resale value. It covers repairs related to manufacturing or assembly defects, including replacement of faulty parts.

The RS 457 and Tuono 457 are produced at Aprilia’s Baramati facility in Maharashtra for both domestic sales and exports. Developed in collaboration with Aprilia’s headquarters in Noale, Italy, the RS 457 has been on the market for about a year, while the naked Tuono 457 debuted in February this year.
Powering the Aprilia RS 457 is a 457cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that delivers 46.9bhp and 43Nm of torque. This unit is paired with a six-speed transmission and comes equipped with an assist and slipper clutch for smoother gear shifts. Suspension duties are handled by a 41mm USD fork at the front (120mm travel) and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear (130mm travel). Braking performance comes from a 320mm front disc with a Bybre four-piston radial calliper and a 220mm rear disc with a single-piston floating calliper. The bike rides on 17-inch alloys fitted with TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres – 110-section at the front and 150-section at the rear – and has a kerb weight of 175kg.
In terms of tech, the RS 457 features three-level traction control, optional bidirectional quickshifter, ride-by-wire throttle, and three selectable ride modes. A 5-inch TFT instrument cluster and illuminated switchgear further add to its modern appeal.

Sharing its engine with the RS, the Aprilia Tuono 457 also uses a 457cc parallel-twin. It is built on an aluminium perimeter chassis and employs a 41mm inverted fork up front and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. The braking setup includes a 320mm front disc, 220mm rear disc, and dual-channel ABS. It also runs on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.
The Tuono 457 is loaded with modern equipment like a 5-inch colour TFT with Bluetooth connectivity, offering navigation, call/SMS alerts, and ride stats. Ride-by-wire tech, a three-level traction control system, and three riding modes (Rain, Sport, Eco) tailor the ride experience. The model also gets a standard slipper clutch and an optional quickshifter.
