Bharat Mobility Expo: After emerging as the world's third-largest automobile market two years back, India's significance in the automotive industry has grown dramatically. Although the majority of leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are already active in this industry, a few are attempting to enter the rapidly growing Indian sector. India is now hosting a unique event called Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, which aims to bring together the whole mobility value chain under one roof and highlight the nation's rising stature as a global hub for mobility. Yamaha is one of the many brands showcasing a range of enticing products in its pavilion at the show. Let's take a look at the key details of the N-Max and the Grand Filano scooters.

On the design front, the 2023 Yamaha N-Max 155, which has a taller windscreen and a broader front fairing, resembles a maxi-style scooter more than the sportier Aerox 155 scooter sold in India. There are LED DRLs and clear visor-like housing for the LED headlights. Furthermore, as mentioned before, it sports a tall windscreen that probably cannot be adjusted. As part of the latest update, most of this scooter's body panels have been darkened to lessen its perceived bulk. A sizable grab rail and a chic tail light design are located on the back.
Now, let's talk about the mechanical components, the most recent iteration of the N-Max 155 has a swingarm-mounted engine, similar to the majority of Yamaha scooters. This 155cc offering from the Japanese manufacturer has the same unit that we get in India along with the Yamaha YZF-R15 V4, the MT-15, and the Aerox 155. It is a liquid-cooled unit and features a 4V head, and variable valve actuators (VVAs). Yamaha has tweaked its engine to produce 14.9 bhp of maximum power and 13.5Nm of torque in the model.

The Grand Filano scooter, which uses mild hybrid technology, has several parts in common with the Fascino 125 sold here. Although the Grand Filano and the Fascino have a similar appearance, the former has a slightly more subdued design than the latter. With a diamond-shaped headlamp, a dual-tone front and sweeping front apron, and a rear portion that tapers at the end to accommodate a small tail lamp, the entire bodywork of the Grand Filano has a curved design theme. It also has some chrome accents on the exhaust shield and mirrors.
Mechanically, it is propelled by a 125cc mild hybrid engine with a peak torque of 10.4Nm and about 8bhp of power. It has two sets of 12-inch alloy wheels, with telescopic forks up front and a monoshock down back, supporting the wheels. A disc-drum combination with a single-channel ABS arrangement is used for braking.
Speaking of features, the model has an LCD dash with a small TFT screen and Bluetooth connectivity. Yamaha also offers hazard lamps, full-LED lighting, a USB charging port, a huge 27-litre LED boot, and a front-mounted fuel filler cap.
