At the re-launch of the Jawa brand in India, Classic Legends confirmed that they are looking at reviving the Yezdi brand too

Nearly two years after the official announcement, Jawa Motorcycles has now made a comeback with three new offerings - the Jawa, the 42 and the bobber-styled Perak. At the launch of the Jawa last week, Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd. also confirmed that they are looking at reviving the Yezdi brand.

Speaking about the resurrection of Yezdi, Founder of Classic Legends Anupam Thareja said that while their current focus is on the Jawa brand, they are simultaneously looking at bringing Yezdi back too. On egging him to speak more on the topic, Thareja said that the Yezdis will have their own identity even if they share their underpinnings with the Jawa offerings.

Turn the clock back a few decades and you will know that traditionally, the Yezdi offerings were based on the same platform as Jawa and yet they had a very unique architecture and design that appealed to a younger, more enthusiastic buyer. We feel that the new-age Yezdi will be a modern-day interpretation of the brand while it retains the retro charm to capitalise on.

While this plan is still in the nascent stages, the new Yezdi products are likely to come with the same 293cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor as the Jawa offerings. Expect the Yezdi name to come back into action by 2020. Classic Legends also has BSA under their portfolio, but as of now, they will only be produced and exported out the country.
