Hero Mavrick And X440

As reported earlier, Hero MotoCorp is readying an all-new motorcycle that will be based on the Harley-Davidson X440. Ahead of its unveiling on January 22, the Indian manufacturer's upcoming 440cc bike has been spotted alongside the X440. Likely to be called the Hero Mavrick 440, the motorcycle in the image features a neo-retro styling, with a round headlamp, an H-shaped LED daytime running light, and round LED turn indicators (placed a little below the headlight). Despite the camouflage, one can notice the muscular-looking fuel tank with small extensions as well as bar-end mirrors. Other visual bits include a 17-inch front wheel and a conventional telescopic front fork, whereas the Harley-Davidson X440 comes with a 19-inch front wheel and an upside-down fork.

Hero Mavrick 440: Brakes, Ergonomics

Speaking of hardware components, the braking duties are expected to be handled by a single 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the back, assisted by dual-channel ABS. In terms of riding ergonomics, the riding position seems more upright as against the X440, with enough space for a pillion rider.

Hero Mavrick 440: Features

Coming to the features, the all-new Hero bike could be equipped with a 3.5-inch digital instrument console, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and more.

Hero Mavrick 440: Engine, Gearbox

The Hero Mavrick 440 is expected to come powered by the same engine as the Harley-Davidson X440, but this engine will produce a distinct sound. A 440cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine with a 6-speed gearbox powers the Harley-Davidson X440. Power and torque figures stand at 27bhp at 6,000rpm and 38Nm at 4,000rpm, respectively.

Expect the upcoming Harley-Davidson X440-based Hero Mavrick 440 to be more affordable than the X440. For reference, the entry-level Harley-Davidson X440 Denim is currently available at Rs 2.40 lakh, while the mid-spec Vivid and the top-spec S are priced at Rs 2.60 lakh and Rs 2.80 lakh, respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
