Hero launches its online sales platform 'eSHOP', which will make buying a new Hero motorcycle or scooter a completely digital affair.

With social distancing being the new normal, automakers are now swiftly moving to online sales channels. The latest manufacturer to launch its online sales platform is Hero MotoCorp. The company has introduced its eSHOP, which is an integrated online sales platform.

According to Hero, the eSHOP will make buying a Hero motorcycle or scooter a ‘completely digital’ affair. All a buyer has to do is visit the company’s official website and access eSHOP through a tab on the homepage. The online sales platform will enable customers to get all the relevant information regarding the on-road price of a product, live inventory status, online documentation, dealer intimation, finance options, order preview and confirmation, VIN allocation, and delivery. Customers can simply select a product, variant, and the desired colour online, and then select the preferred dealership in their area / city.

Customers will have to make the payment online, post which they will be provided with an e-receipt and a unique OTP number for verification. Once the transaction is verified, the selected dealer will assign a sales assistant, who will handle all queries and assist the customer with documentation, finance, invoicing, insurance, registration, and delivery of the product. Home delivery will also be offered. During delivery, a hard copy of the signed documents required by RTO will be collected from the customer.

Apart from new vehicle sales, Hero MotoCorp also has multiple digital aftersales services in place for its existing customers.

Last month, Hero MotoCorp resumed operations at all of its six plants across the country in a phased manner. Owing to the lockdown restrictions, none of the plants is running at full capacity at the moment. Also, Hero MotoCorp’s monthly sales were down by a whopping 82.71% in May 2020, as the company sold only 1,12,682 units as compared to 6,52,028 units in May 2019.
