Hero MotoCorp’s electric division, Vida, has unveiled a shadowy teaser of its upcoming VX2 electric scooter, offering a faint glimpse of its form ahead of the official India launch on July 1. The image doesn’t reveal much, but the silhouette suggests design cues reminiscent of the Vida Z concept, possibly featuring a sharply styled front and sleek lighting elements akin to the V2 lineup. Reports from previous sightings hint that the VX2 will be a cost-effective alternative to the current Vida models, likely targeting a lower price bracket. Expected equipment includes a compact digital instrument cluster, a standard key ignition setup, and familiar controls from the V2 range. With no technical specifications disclosed yet, the teaser has stirred curiosity as enthusiasts wait for full details in the coming weeks.
The Vida VX2 prototype was recently sighted in a bold Candy Yellow colour – a fresh addition to the Vida lineup. The scooter features a contrasting black grab rail and appears to use the same taillamp design as the Vida V2. Notable changes include slightly redesigned switchgear and the presence of a standard key ignition system, unlike the V2’s keyless setup. Another key difference is the display: instead of the V2’s 7-inch touchscreen, the VX2 seems to use a more compact, no-frills digital unit, reinforcing its likely budget-oriented positioning.

Pricing has not yet been announced, though the VX2 is expected to undercut the Vida V2, which currently retails between Rs 74,000 and Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
In other news, Hero MotoCorp has disclosed that it sold 5.08 lakh two-wheelers in May 2025, showing a sharp recovery from the previous month’s figures. In April, the company had to suspend production at four manufacturing units for three days due to scheduled maintenance and supply chain adjustments, which led to reduced output and sales dropping to 3.05 lakh units. As operations normalised in May, sales surged, registering a significant 66% increase compared to April.

Despite this strong month-over-month bounce, year-over-year growth was minimal. The company’s May 2025 sales were only slightly higher than the 4.98 lakh units sold in May 2024 – an increase of just 1.9%. Hero reported retailing a total of about 5.08 lakh motorcycles and scooters last month, compared to 4.98 lakh units during the same period the previous year.
