Kawasaki has globally revealed the KLE500 as a global adventure touring motorcycle, positioned between the Versys-X 300 and the Versys 650. The revival of the KLE nameplate marks Kawasaki’s re-entry into the dual-purpose segment, focusing on practical performance across on- and off-road conditions. The model targets riders who want flexibility for travel and daily use without moving into larger-capacity adventure motorcycles. The KLE500 follows Kawasaki’s adventure-focused design approach, centred on efficiency and comfort. It features a large fuel tank for extended riding range, a compact front fairing, and a tall windscreen for wind protection.

The SE variant adds a skid plate, handguards, and a TFT instrument display with smartphone connectivity. Kawasaki’s Ergo-FIT seat adjustment system offers four height levels to accommodate different riders. The design ensures a balanced posture for both seated and standing positions, supporting control on unpaved trails and long-distance roads alike.
The motorcycle’s frame uses a steel trellis structure designed to balance stability and durability. Suspension components from Kayaba include long-travel front forks and a rear monoshock with Kawasaki’s UNI Trak linkage, offering consistent handling across road and trail surfaces. The KLE500 runs a 21-inch front wheel with dual-purpose tyres for improved terrain coverage. Braking is managed by twin front discs and a single rear disc equipped with ABS, ensuring predictable control in multiple riding conditions.
Powering the motorcycle is a 451cc parallel-twin engine shared with the Ninja 500. A slipper clutch reduces rear wheel hop during downshifts and supports smoother control during off-road riding. Kawasaki is yet to announce the official performance figures, though they are expected to be around 50bhp and 42Nm, similar to the Ninja 500.
