A fresh test mule of the forthcoming Royal Enfield Scram 650 has been spotted abroad in an almost production-ready state with no camouflage, revealing new details. The upcoming bike will have a similar architecture to the Interceptor 650, but there will be a few distinctions. As shown in the spy shots, the bike has block-pattern tyres on the spoked wheels. The front forks are upside-down as opposed to the telescopic ones on the Interceptor. However, the rear is still supported by a dual-spring suspension. In addition, the Scram 650 looks to have a single-sided exhaust, which will lead to a lighter weight than the current Royal Enfield 650cc bikes. There hasn't been an official update on the launch yet. Industry reports, however, indicate that the bike could start selling in early 2024.

In addition to the aforementioned features, the new motorcycle will probably have a full LED lighting setup, a ribbed seat, a taller handlebar, oval-shaped side panels, and an offset single-pod console that will distinguish it from the Interceptor. The forthcoming Scrambler 650, however, is expected to use an identical 648cc parallel-twin engine to the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, and Super Meteor 650. Although there are no confirmed reports, there are many rumours that the manufacturer might modify this powertrain to suit the character of the bike and make it more efficient for off-road use.
