Ola Electric offering 14-day guaranteed delivery to select customers in India

Ola Electric has extended the offer to select customers in major cities. However, details regarding the campaign still remain minimal.

In the email that Ola sent out to customers, vital details such as the onset of the 14-day countdown has not been mentioned. The customers are first required to make a reservation for their Ola S1 at Rs 499 on its website. The purchase is then confirmed after the buyer pays a sum of Rs 20,000 when the window opens. The remaining amount is then paid during the delivery of the scooter.

During the process, the customer also has to pay the FAME-II subsidy amount which is later refunded. The aforementioned email does not mention when during this process does the countdown begin.

The campaign is supposed to be very limited to select potential customers in major cities across India, where Ola is confident it can fulfill the promise. Since the deliveries of the first batch, the company has significantly ramped up production. While it only registered 238 scooters in the final month of last year, the number rose close to 13,000 in April this year, surpassing sales of prominent players including Hero Electric.

While the production scales up with more and more customers taking deliveries, quality remains a grey area for the manufacturer. Since the scooter that caught fire in Pune a couple of months back, Ola has been facing plenty of flak on social media with several customers raising flags about the quality of components, delivery duration as well as service requests.
