Ola S1 Z, Gig Range Launched in India; Prices Start at Rs 39,000

Ola Electric has introduced the brand-new S1 Z and Gig range in India, aimed at budget-conscious buyers, and offering an affordable entry point into electric mobility while providing a range suitable for everyday commuting. The new lineup of e-scooters includes the Ola Gig, Ola Gig+, Ola S1 Z, and Ola S1 Z+, with ex-showroom, introductory prices set at Rs 39,999, Rs 49,999, Rs 59,999, and Rs 64,999, respectively. These models come with a portable Ola PowerPod battery, which also functions as a home inverter. According to the EV maker, the bookings are underway for Rs 499. Deliveries for the Ola Gig series are scheduled to start in April 2025, with the S1 Z series following in May 2025.

Ola Gig, Gig+ Electric Scooters

The Ola Gig scooter is designed for gig workers who primarily make short trips, offering a sufficient range, a removable battery, good payload capacity, and essential safety features. It provides an IDC-certified range of 112 km and a top speed of 25km/h, powered by a 1.5kWh removable battery and a hub motor, with 12-inch tyres for enhanced braking. At an introductory price of Rs 39,999 (ex-showroom), the Ola Gig will be available for B2B purchases and rentals.

For gig workers needing to cover longer distances with heavier loads, the Ola Gig+ offers a top speed of 45km/h and the option of a single or dual 1.5kWh removable battery, delivering an IDC-certified range of 81 km (or 157 km with dual batteries). It features a 2.01bhp hub motor, allowing workers to maintain optimal city speeds and complete orders faster. The Ola Gig+ will be priced at Rs 49,999 (ex-showroom) and available for B2B sales and rentals.

Ola S1 Z, S1 Z+ Electric Scooters

The Ola S1 Z is an electric scooter tailored for personal use, primarily for city commuters. It comes with removable dual 1.5kWh batteries, each offering a certified range of 75 km. The scooter features a top speed of 70km/h, an LCD screen, and a physical key for convenience. Powered by a 3.89bhp hub motor, it can accelerate from 0 to 20km/h in 1.8 seconds and from 0 to 40km/h in 4.8 seconds. The introductory price of the Ola S1 Z is Rs 59,999 (ex-showroom).

The Ola S1 Z+ is designed for both personal and light commercial use, featuring a robust build, larger payload capacity, and flexible storage. It is well-suited for urban, semi-urban, and rural travel, catering to small business owners and shopkeepers. This model also offers dual 1.5kWh removable batteries, delivering a combined range of 146 km, 14-inch tyres, and a 3.89bhp hub motor. It accelerates from 0-20km/h in 1.8 seconds and reaches 0-40km/h in 4.7 seconds. The introductory price is Rs 64,999 (ex-showroom).

Ola Powerpod

The Ola PowerPod, priced at Rs 9,999, is a portable inverter featuring a 1.5kWh battery and a maximum output of 500W. It can power essential devices like LED lights, ceiling fans, TVs, mobile chargers, and Wi-Fi routers for up to three hours. Ola states that the PowerPod, designed for use in semi-urban and rural areas with inconsistent electricity, provides an affordable and eco-friendly power source.
