The fact that Royal Enfield is developing a wide range of motorcycles in the 350cc, 450cc, and 650cc displacement categories is already known. Spy photos of upcoming Royal Enfield bikes that have been sighted testing on the roads frequently surface on the internet. The much anticipated new 650cc Classic is among the many in development. It will have the same foundations as Enfield's previous 650cc models, including the Interceptor, Continental GT, Shotgun, and Super Meteor. In a recent update, the Chennai-based manufacturer has filed a trademark for the moniker “Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin". The Indian Trademark Registry has verified the trademark application documents, as indicated by the status of the application, "Formalities Chk Pass."

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin: Design

Since the Classic 650 has been spied on multiple occasions, we already know a good deal about it. With its teardrop-shaped fuel tank, split seat configuration, headlamp nacelle, and upright riding position due to the mid-rise handlebar and mid-set footpegs, the Classic 650's design is strikingly similar to that of the Royal Enfield Classic 350

The Classic 650 is equipped with halogen turn indicators and an LED headlamp set. Moreover, the Shotgun 650's fuel tank shape is comparable to the bike's, as was seen earlier this year. It has two slightly upswept peashooter exhausts with a chrome finish, just like the 650cc bobber.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin: Engine and Gearbox

Coming to the mechanical details, a 648cc oil-cooled parallel-twin engine, producing 47bhp of maximum power and 52Nm of peak torque, will power the Classic 650. On the transmission front, this unit will come paired with a six-speed gearbox via a slip-and-assist clutch.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin: Hardware

Hardware-wise, the Classic 650 Twin will be equipped with twin shock absorbers at the back and standard telescopic forks up front. Both ends' disc brakes will provide braking power with the assistance of dual-channel ABS. Depending on the version opted for, the bike will roll on a 19-inch front and 18-inch wire-spoked or alloy wheels.

As far as features are concerned, the model is probably going to include the same analogue instrument console as the Classic 350, along with a USB charging port and a small digital inset.
