Royal Enfield Scram 440 Launched at Rs 2.08 Lakh in India, Gets LED Headlamp, Switchable ABS and More

Royal Enfield has launched the Scram 440 in India, starting at Rs 2.08 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model replaces the Scram 411 and comes in two variants: Trail and Force. The Force variant, priced at Rs 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom), includes cast aluminium alloy wheels and tubeless tyres.

The Scram 440 is an adventure-touring crossover designed for on-road and off-road use. It offers 190mm front and 180mm rear suspension travel for improved comfort and handling. A low centre of gravity, sturdy chassis, and a long-stroke engine provide strong torque at low revs, ensuring good acceleration and traction on various terrains. It gets a 6-speed gearbox, LED headlamp, switchable ABS, tubeless tyres, and an optional top box for luggage. The bike has several new colour options.

Speaking about the motorcycle, B Govindarajan, CEO, Royal Enfield, said, ‘The new Scram 440 is a crossover engineered to have fun with anything, anytime, anywhere. Our purpose with the Scram 440 is to give the community a motorcycle that stands true to its purpose; it is our ‘take’ on scramblers, blending legit functionality with playfulness and accessibility.’

Royal Enfield Scram 440: Design and Features

The Scram 440 builds on the design of the Scram 411 with modern updates. It features the signature round LED headlamp and a large fuel tank with "440" decals. The single-piece seat, slightly raised for pillion comfort, adds to its practical design.

Key features include a circular semi-digital instrument cluster, 41mm telescopic front forks, monoshock rear suspension, front and rear disc brakes, circular ORVMs, knuckle guards, and halogen turn indicators.

The Scram 440 is available in five colours: Force Blue, Force Grey, Force Teal, Trail Green, and Trail Blue, making it a versatile choice for adventure enthusiasts.

Royal Enfield Scram 440: Engine

The Royal Enfield Scram 440 delivers improved power and performance with its upgraded 443cc Long Stroke engine. The 3mm increase in bore size results in 25.4bhp at 6250rpm and 34Nm of torque at 4000rpm, a step up from the Scram 411's 24bhp at 6500rpm and 32Nm at 4250rpm.

For better safety and control, the Scram 440 features a larger piston front calliper (30/32mm) and switchable ABS, easily activated via the switch cube. These updates enhance rider confidence on various terrains.
