This development was definitely quite exciting for bike lovers all over India. Globally, the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE is positioned between the 650 XT and the 1050 XT. As of now, the new model is expected to arrive in the Indian market by the end of this year, following its official international launch. Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE: Design Highlights

On the styling front, the vertically stacked LED headlight up front lends the soon-to-be-launched motorcycle a unique look. For a dual-tone aesthetic, the visor is transparent and blacked out. The bike also gets a secondary fender beneath it, as well as a broad handlebar with knuckle guards and a single-piece seat. Apart from this, the V-Strom 800 DE sports pannier mounts and a top box, which increases its adventurous appeal even more.

Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE: Mechanical Details

Coming to the engine specs, the V-Strom 800 DE from Suzuki gains a new 776cc DOHC parallel twin engine that belts out 78Nm of peak torque at 6,800rpm and 82bhp of maximum power at 8,500rpm. In addition, the engine has four valves per cylinder and a 270-degree crankshaft, which the bike manufacturer claims will aid in providing traction along with bottom-end torque for off-road activities.

The V-Strom 800DE comes equipped with wirespoked 21-inch front wheels and 17-inch rear wheels that are fitted with Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour tyres. However, the tyres are not tubeless as opposed to the V-Strom 650 XT, which is currently on sale our domestic market.

Additionally, the V-Strom 800 DE features a fully adjustable Showa suspension system with 220mm of ground clearance and 220mm of travel on both ends. The bike sports a compact profile for improved control and a steel frame chassis with an aluminum swingarm.

Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE: Electronic Aids

The new Suzuki model boasts an extensive list of features comprising a customised 5-inch colour TFT LCD multifunction instrument panel, LED lighting, the Suzuki Traction Control System with G (Gravel) mode and rear ABS cancel mode options, the bi-directional quick shifter, the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), a low rpm assist, and the ride-by-wire electronic throttle system. Going into details, the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) function assists a rider in tailoring performance attributes to suit changing riding requirements. Further, there are three distinct power output characteristic modes that a rider can select from with the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS).

In order to match throttle grip action, especially when first opening the throttle, Suzuki's Ride-by-Wire Electronic Throttle System optimises engine output characteristics using the onboard ECM. This enhances responsiveness and controllability, particularly on gravel roads, according to the manufacturer.
