Triumph Motorcycles India has launched the new Scrambler 400 variant in the Indian market, expanding its 400cc motorcycle lineup. Priced at Rs 2.94 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Scrambler 400 XC offers factory-fitted upgrades that make it a more rugged and adventure-ready version of the standard Scrambler 400 X. With added features and exclusive styling, this new variant is designed for riders looking for a ready-to-go package straight from the showroom. Positioned as the premium offering, here are the key differentiators between the Scrambler 400 X and the Scrambler 400 XC.

The most noticeable changes on the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC include tubeless cross-spoke wheels, which enhance both the motorcycle's style and off-road capabilities. It also gets a beak-style front fender, a body-coloured flyscreen, and extra protection in the form of a sump guard and engine crash protection—all of which are optional on the base Scrambler 400 X. These additions make the XC more suited for riders who prefer extra durability and a bold look.
In terms of appearance, the Scrambler 400 XC offers three new paint options: Racing Yellow, Granite, and Vanilla White. These colours are exclusive to the XC and help it stand out from the standard Scrambler 400 X, which is offered in four other shades. With this new palette, the XC appeals to riders who want a motorcycle that not only performs well but also looks different on the road.
The new variant is priced at a premium of Rs 27,000 over the base model, which is available at Rs 2.63 lakh (ex-showroom). Although riders can customise the Scrambler 400 X with similar accessories, the 400 XC offers better value for those who prefer a complete factory-built setup with everything included from day one.
Mechanically, the Scrambler 400 XC remains the same as the standard version. It uses a 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 39.45bhp at 8,000 rpm and 37.5Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. This engine setup offers strong low-end torque and smooth power delivery, ideal for city rides, weekend trips, and mild off-roading.
