TVS Motor Company has launched the updated iQube S with a larger 4.7 kWh battery pack in India. The electric scooter is priced at Rs 1.54 lakh (ex-showroom), while buyers in Delhi can get it at Rs 1.37 lakh after subsidies. The new version replaces the older iQube S that came with the smaller 3.5 kWh battery pack. The variant had also disappeared from the company’s website for some time before returning with this updated setup.

The latest update gives the iQube S a stronger position in TVS’ electric scooter lineup. It now sits between the standard iQube models and the range-topping iQube ST. The bigger battery mainly focuses on improving range and making the scooter more practical for daily commuting and longer city rides.

Apart from the battery upgrade, the scooter continues with the same overall design and equipment list as before.

TVS iQube S: Powertrain

The updated iQube S continues with a hub-mounted electric motor producing 4.4kW of peak power and 33Nm of torque. TVS claims the scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40km/h in 4.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 82km/h. These performance figures should make it suitable for everyday city riding and urban traffic conditions.

The main highlight is the larger 4.7kWh battery pack. TVS claims an IDC-certified riding range of 175km on a full charge, which is a noticeable increase over the 145km claimed by the older 3.5kWh version. The additional range should help riders who regularly cover longer distances during daily commutes.

The larger battery has increased the scooter’s weight to 128.8kg. Charging the battery from 0 to 80 per cent takes around four hours using the portable off-board charger. TVS says the charging time remains practical for regular everyday use.

TVS iQube S: Features

Feature-wise, the scooter gets a 7-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, navigation support, ride statistics, and notification alerts. It also comes with regenerative braking, reverse assist, parking assist, crash alerts, fall alerts, and anti-theft functions.
