TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad have crossed a production milestone of 2 lakh units under their partnership that began in 2013. The number covers all jointly developed models made over the past decade. The latest model added to the count is the BMW F 450 GS, now moving out of TVS Motor’s Hosur plant for global markets. Both companies said the milestone supports their roadmap for product and technology projects in this segment.
The partnership was created to co-develop and produce sub-500cc motorcycles for multiple markets. TVS Motor manages manufacturing in India, while BMW Motorrad handles platform engineering and global reach. This structure enables TVS to use BMW’s technical strength, and BMW to use TVS Motor’s cost-focused production and scale. Over time, the joint line-up has grown through coordinated development cycles and shared targets.

Models such as the BMW G 310 R, G 310 GS, G 310 RR, and the TVS Apache RR 310 have been central to the 2 lakh production mark. These motorcycles share a common platform and are shipped to more than 100 markets across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. The partners earlier crossed 1.4 lakh global sales for the 310 platform, showing consistent demand that continues to guide the rise in cumulative production.

The BMW F 450 GS entering production in India marks a new chapter for the alliance in the sub-500cc segment. Built in Hosur, the motorcycle supports BMW Motorrad’s global scale plan while meeting export and domestic needs. The 450cc platform adds range to the partnership and builds on the earlier foundation set by the 310 series.

Reaching the 2 lakh milestone confirms TVS Motor’s role as a key production hub for BMW Motorrad’s lower and mid-capacity models. Both companies continue to follow shared quality processes for markets spanning over 80 countries. The alliance is also working on future mobility ideas, including possible electric projects.
