The G 310 R is the most affordable, and therefore, the entry-level offering from the German manufacturer, BMW Motorrad. The G310 R carries the genes of the more premium S 1000 R. The design is aggressive and very BMW like. First, the motorsport look adds a new level of zing. Second, it also gets a muscular fuel tank and a dynamic front and rear design. At the time of its launch, the G310 R was also the most expensive bike to be powered by a single-cylinder engine in the Indian two-wheeler market.

In terms of dimensions, the G 310 R is 2,005mm in overall length, 820mm in overall width and 1,080mm in overall height. The fuel tank has a capacity of 11-litres. Other than that, the bike has a ground clearance of 165mm and a kerb weight of 158kg.

The BMW G 310 R comes powered by a 313cc single-cylinder water-cooled motor, which makes 33bhp of power and 28Nm of peak torque. The power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed manual gearbox. Ride it efficiently, and the BMW G 310 R mileage could be as good as 30km/l.
The BMW G 310 R is based on a bolted steel, drive unit load-bearing, tubular steel chassis while its stopping power comes from a 300mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the back. The bike rides on beefy 41mm upside-down telescopic forks suspension at the front and a solid die-cast aluminium swingarm, directly hinged monoshock, adjustable preload suspension at the rear. It gets a 110/70 ZR17 tyre at the front and a wider 150/60 ZR17 tyre at the rear.
The BMW G 310 R new model comes standard equipped ABS as part of the standard safety kit. As for the electricals, the taillamp is an LED while the headlamp gets halogen fitment. The instrument cluster is a monochrome TFT unit, which displays the speedometer, odometer, tachometer and trip meter.
