Updated Ducati Hypermotard 950 to launch soon

Ducati India will soon launch the updated Hypermotard 950. It is the first time that the Hypermotard will see the light of day in the BS6 era.

The supermoto motorcycle will feature a 937cc L-twin engine which will be tuned to meet the BS6 emission norms. The expected power figures are 112.5bhp and 96Nm of torque which will be sent to the wheel via a six-speed gearbox.

The electronics on offer include traction control, cornering ABS and wheelie control that will function in conjunction with a six-axis IMU. The motorcycle will also feature multiple riding and power modes.

The upcoming Hypermotard sports very minimalistic styling. Most chassis and engine bits are exposed. The seat is flat allowing the rider to slide ahead or back. The handlebar features knuckle guards with integrated turn indicators. One key design feature also includes removable pillion footpegs.

Overseas, the Ducati Hypermotard 950 is on sale in three variants – the Base, RVE and SP. The Indian market is likely to get the base and the SP variant. The Hypermotard 950 SP gets uprated cycle parts and the kerb weight of the motorcycle is lower by 2kg compared to the standard base variant which tips the scale at 178kgs.

The prices for the Base variant of the Hypermotard 950 are likely to start at Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas, the Hypermotard 950 SP is likely to cost close to Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom). The launch is likely to be scheduled towards the end of November, with deliveries commencing in the following month.
