Hyundai recently launched the updated Verna in India, with prices starting at Rs 10.98 lakh (ex-showroom). Compared to the sixth-generation model, which went on sale in India in 2023, the changes are not highly significant but are noticeable enough to make it more competitive in the segment, which also includes models like the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, and Honda City. Here’s a look at the new additions to the Verna.
The 2026 Hyundai Verna has seen very subtle styling updates. The grille seems slightly refined, while the LED projector headlamps are now repositioned. The front bumper also looks slightly updated, adding to the new look without altering the overall design.

The side profile remains largely unchanged, with the familiar 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and the rear also sees a minor change in the form of a slightly tweaked bumper.

Inside, the Hyundai Verna retains its familiar cabin layout and premium upholstery. However, it now comes equipped with the new 3-spoke steering wheel with a Morse code ‘H’ logo. It also gets Boss mode for the front passenger seat. That said, features like an 8-speaker Bose sound system, ambient lighting, cruise control, electric sunroof, and wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay have been carried over.

In terms of safety, the 2026 Hyundai Verna now comes with 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and an integrated dashcam. It continues to offer ISOFIX child seat mounts, offer ESC (electronic stability control), an electronic parking brake, hill start assist, rain-sensing wipers, and level-2 ADAS.
Mechanically, the all-new Verna sticks to its engine lineup, including a 1.5-litre NA petrol with 113bhp, and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with 158bhp. Both engines come standard with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the naturally aspirated unit can be paired with a CVT, and the turbocharged variant offers a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
