5-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny to be revealed at Auto Expo 2023
The Jimny is expected to be offered in the Indian market with a 1.5-litre K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine boosted by mild hybrid technology. It's the same engine that does duty in the Brezza and Grand Vitara.

One more reason for Indian car fans to look out for the 2023 Auto Expo is the new Jimny 5-door SUV.
In the list of the most awaited car launches for 2023, the 5-door Maruti Jimny inarguably has its name. Reportedly, the model will make its official debut at the Indian Auto Expo. The lifestyle off-road SUV will be offered in the Indian market with a 1.5-litre K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine boosted by mild hybrid technology. The engine will be able to develop 101bhp and 137Nm. The upcoming model by Maruti Suzuki will have a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. For the uninitiated, the same power setup is shared by models such as the Grand Vitara, the new Brezza, and more.
As for its dimensions, it's expected to have a 300mm increase in wheelbase (3-door version), which will bring the total length to 3,850mm. The model's width and height will be 1645mm and 1730mm, respectively. The 5-door model will also carry the same boxy profile just like the existing 3-door version. On the inside, it's expected to have similar features as the new Brezza and Grand Vitara, so, expect no major changes in the interior.
Coming to safety, the Jimny will get ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors & six airbags. When launched, the off-roader will rival the Mahindra Thar, which will also get a 5-door version soon. The new Jimny 5-door is expected to come at a starting price of ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom).
