Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door exports surpass 1 lakh units, boosting India’s role in vehicle exports and supporting the brand’s global growth.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has reached a major export milestone with the Jimny 5-Door, crossing one lakh units shipped to international markets. Produced entirely at Maruti Suzuki’s Indian facilities, the model was launched for global markets in 2023 and is now sold in more than 100 countries. This milestone underscores India’s growing contribution to global automobile exports and the manufacturer’s ability to meet global standards in design, safety, and performance. The Jimny 5-Door has become an important part of Maruti Suzuki’s global operations, helping strengthen India’s position as a key player in the automotive export segment.

The Jimny 5-Door has recorded demand in important markets such as Japan, Mexico, Australia, South Africa, and Chile. In Japan, marketed as the 'Jimny Nomade', the vehicle received over 50,000 orders shortly after launch. Its performance in these regions highlights its acceptance among diverse customer groups that require everyday usability combined with capable off-road handling. The model’s global presence shows that it can cater to varying mobility needs across continents.

Built on a ladder-frame chassis, the Jimny 5-Door uses Suzuki’s ALLGRIP PRO four-wheel-drive system for reliable traction across surfaces. Power comes from a 1.5-litre petrol engine, available with both manual and automatic transmission choices. These technical features allow the vehicle to maintain performance consistency while meeting the expectations of users across different driving environments.
Within Maruti Suzuki’s export portfolio, the Jimny 5-Door ranks second only to the Fronx. The company exported more than 2 lakh vehicles in the first half of FY2025-26, growing 40 per cent year-on-year. Maruti Suzuki continues to lead India’s passenger vehicle exports with a 46 per cent market share, supported by strong global acceptance of models produced in India.

The model’s export performance aligns with a broader increase in global demand for compact SUVs with all-terrain capability.
