Tata Motors launched the 2023 Safari in the Indian market in February this year for Rs 15.65 lakh (ex-showroom). The high-end SUV comes in six different colour schemes, three editions, and seven trim levels. In terms of mechanics, the drivetrain of the Tata Safari SUV has been updated and improved. The new engine, which is a tweaked version of the older 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine, produces a maximum output of 168bhp and a peak torque of 350Nm. The revised new powerplant now complies with the most recent RDE emission standards as well. The SUV is still offered with two different transmission options: a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

In more recent updates, the brand-new Tata Safari SUV has been equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which adds active safety features like autonomous emergency braking (AEB), traffic sign recognition, high beam assist, blind-spot detection, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, forward and rear collision alert, and door open alert. The SUV's iteration for 2023 also has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 360-degree surround-view camera system, a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 200 voice commands in six languages, 6-way power adjustable driver seats with memory, and more.

Hyundai Alcazar

The 2023 Hyundai Alcazar petrol can be purchased in six variants and is available in four trim levels: Prestige, Platinum, Platinum (O), and Signature (O). The cost of the vehicle ranges from Rs 16.74 lakh to Rs 20.25 lakh (ex-showroom) for the six- and seven-seat variants. For the Prestige and Platinum models, only a seven-seat configuration with a 6-speed manual transmission is offered. When compared to the Platinum variant, which costs Rs 18.65 lakh (ex-showroom), the Prestige version is less expensive at Rs 16.74 lakh. The Platinum (O) and Signature (O), which can hold six or seven passengers, each include a 7-Speed DCT.

Hyundai Alcazar Front and Side Profile

A 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 158bhp and 253Nm of peak torque powers the 2023 Hyundai Alcazar. Additionally, it sports a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. Both engines are E20 fuel ready and RDE compliant. All trim levels of the 2023 Hyundai Alcazar come standard with six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, ABS, EBD, reverse parking sensors, TPMS, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, and hill start assist control. Other features include a digital instrument panel, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and connected car technology, among others.

Mahindra XUV700

The Mahindra XUV700 retails for between Rs 14.01 lakh to Rs 26.18 lakh (ex-showroom). Two engines are available for the SUV: a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre mDiesel Hawk unit. While the diesel engine produces 153bhp and 360Nm, the turbo-petrol engine produces 197bhp and 380Nm. On higher trims, the diesel unit can generate 182bhp and 420Nm (450Nm with AT). Both engines have a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission available.

A number of features are included with the XUV700, such as an ADAS suite, a 360-degree surround-view camera, LED lighting, dual-zone climate control, and front seats with six different adjustment options as well as welcome and memory functions.
