BYD has announced that it will increase the prices of the Sealion 7 in India, nine months after the SUV’s launch in the country. While the exact quantum of the hike has not been disclosed, the revised prices will come into effect on January 1, 2026. Until then, buyers placing orders on or before December 31, 2025, will continue to be eligible for the current ex-showroom prices, which are Rs 48.90 lakh for the Premium variant and Rs 54.90 lakh for the Performance variant.

The BYD Sealion 7 is available in RWD and AWD versions, both equipped with an 82.6kWh battery. The Premium RWD model offers a maximum power of 308bhp and a peak torque of 380Nm, with a range of 567 kilometers. Meanwhile, the Performance AWD version increases power and torque to 523bhp and 690Nm, respectively. However, its range is slightly shorter at 542 kilometres.

The e-SUV sprints from 0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 215 km/h.

The Sealion 7 from BYD comes with a wide spectrum of comfort and convenience features. Among them, the most notable is a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, seamlessly integrating Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and controls for a range of vehicle functions. Other amenities include a head-up display, ambient lighting, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory, ventilated front seats, a 12-speaker sound system, and a panoramic glass roof.

For added convenience, the SUV offers a wireless phone charger and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability. It includes front and rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, 11 airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and an advanced ADAS suite, featuring lane departure assist, forward collision warning, and blind spot detection for safety.
The electric SUV from BYD locks horns with some of the popular EVs in the segment, including the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo EC40, Kia EV6, and BMW iX1 LWB.
