Honda Brio Facelift Launched in Indonesia, Also Gets an RS Variant

Honda has launched the face-lifted version of the Brio in Indonesia. It draws power from a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, i-VTEC engine that is based on 'Earth Dreams' technology. It is mated to a manual as well as a CVT automatic transmission.

The Honda Brio facelift, a more refreshed model flaunting new features and cosmetic updates, has been launched internationally. The popular hatchback is available for purchase in the Indonesian market and is offered in two variants - standard and RS. In Jakarta (Indonesia), prices of the Honda Brio facelift range between IDR 191,900,000 (Rs 9.24 lakh) for the base E trim, while the Brio RS model carries a starting price of IDR 233,900,000 (Rs 13.03 lakh). All prices are ex-showroom. On the outside, the fascia of the standard Brio has been restyled, and it now sports a new front bumper design along with a redesigned chrome front grille. Two exclusive exterior colour options are available for the hatchback that are Taffeta White and Rally Red. 

Speaking of the Brio RS model, changes on the exterior include a piano black grille, new LED headlamps, a new front bumper, fog lights, blacked-out ORVMs, and diffusers, bringing out its sporty character. Two exterior paint options exclusive to the RS variant include Phoenix Orange Pearl (dual-tone) and Stellar Diamond Pearl. Other colour shades available on both the standard and the RS variants are Electric Lime Metallic, Meteoride Gray Metallic, and Crystal Black.

2023 Honda Brio: Powertrain & Performance

There are no mechanical changes to the car. The Honda Brio facelift continues to use the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, i-VTEC engine that is based on 'Earth Dreams' technology. This engine is good enough to produce 89bhp of maximum power and 110Nm of peak torque and comes with a 5-speed manual transmission as well as a CVT automatic gearbox.

The facelifted version of the Brio follows the latest design language of Honda. The hatchback comes with a new front bumper, sweptback headlamps, LED DRLs, a revamped front grille, and redesigned rear end housing a roof spoiler and new taillamp clusters. The car rides on 14-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. 

On the inside, the hatchback gets a new colour scheme, updated seat patterns, power windows, an anti-pinch mechanism, a grey roof lining, a 7.0-inch infotainment system, and a small digital MID display. In addition, the hatchback now gets adjustable headrests at the front.

2023 Honda Brio RS Variant: Exterior & Interior

In the RS avatar, the Honda Brio features a sporty look. Design elements of the car include a Piano Black grille with RS emblem, new LED headlamps with LED DRLs, black ORVMs, LED fog lights, LED turn signals, a power retractable black door mirror, a smoked rear combination lamp, a rear diffuser, and a smart entry system. Besides, the Brio RS gets redesigned bumpers at both ends. This car rolls on 15-inch dark chrome sporty alloy wheels. 

On the inside, the Honda Brio RS is brimmed with a host of new features such as an updated dashboard pattern, a new seat design, an ignition system, an instrument cluster, and so on. Other notable elements include a 7.0-inch touchscreen display, adjustable headrests, steering-mounted audio controls, and illumination lights on the transmission lever.  

For those unaware, the Honda Brio was introduced in the Indian market in 2011, followed by its mid-life update in 2016. Thereafter, the company ceased the production of its entry-level hatchback in India in 2019 due to the decline in its sales.
