SUVs have become a game changer for many automobile firms with their surging popularity among buyers from all walks of life. Considering their growing dominance in India, several carmakers are working to widen their four-wheeler portfolio by adding several SUV options. One such automaker is Honda Cars India. The firm is gearing up to launch a new SUV for the Indian market called the Elevate. It will be a compact SUV that will lock horns with the Kia Seltos, the Hyundai Creta, and more models. In a competitive auto sector, carving a niche is tough. The all-new Elevate is soon to become a part of the segment, and we have readied a list comprising features, which we expect.

Honda Elevate SUV: Diesel Powertrain

Honda has given farewell to the diesel engines for our market, but it did use to offer powerful diesel powertrain options in India. For those unaware, numerous diesel models from various brands have been discontinued because of the new RDE rules in India, which require significant investments in upgrading diesel engines to comply with the strict new emission regulations. The all-new Elevate won't have a diesel powertrain. Mechanically, it is most likely to come equipped with a single 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This engine, found with the City sedan, offers 119bhp and 145Nm. For transmission, it uses either a manual or CVT automatic gearbox. Although Honda has stopped producing diesel engines, we hope the company to bring its powerful diesel editions back into the market and strengthen its footprint in the Indian auto sector, where many automakers are offering modified diesel engine setups.

Honda Elevate SUV: A Remarkable Display Screen

Today's cars feature more options than ever for in-car entertainment to make journeys simple and fun for passengers. Many automakers are working on swarming more screens and amenities into their cars. In the revamped City sedan, Honda offers an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This screen size is likely to increase in the Elevate SUV, which is anticipated to come with a segment-standard 10.25-inch touchscreen display. However, the chances of a dual-integrated display setup are reportedly minimal.

Honda Elevate SUV: Turbo-petrol Engine

Honda has always been driven towards including engines that offer greater fuel efficiency, such as hybrids. Currently, there is no update on the powertrain of the Elevate, but we expect it to be revealed soon as the debut date draws near. As Turbo models are less noisy, lightweight, and capable of delivering more power than their other engine counterparts, many automakers are embracing this type of unit for their compact SUVs in India. We are anticipating Honda to make this engine available with its new SUV sooner or later.

Honda Elevate SUV: Panoramic Sunroof

For the uninitiated, the panoramic sunroof extends above the front and back seats and takes up more than half of the roof area. It provides natural lighting inside the car and functions as natural air conditioning. This kind of sunroof is prevalent in our market, and many manufacturers provide it in a variety of models. The Elevate, Honda's brand-new mini SUV, which is about to be unveiled in this nation, however, will not have a panoramic sunroof.

According to the teaser that reveals half of the roof, the brand-new SUV has a single-pane sunroof. Whether the lack of a panoramic sunroof in the Elevate, will affect its appeal in the market or not, is something too soon to comment on. However, we wish the SUV to come laden with a range of features that could help it keep pace with its rivals.
