After a successful pilot run in Delhi-NCR, Hyundai has introduced the ‘Click to Buy’ online sales platform across the country. With this online platform, customers can now connect with any of Hyundai’s 500 dealerships.

Earlier this year in January, Hyundai kickstarted a pilot run of the ‘Click to Buy’ online sales platform in Delhi-NCR. The Korean carmaker has now started the service across the country. This unique platform allows customers to book Hyundai cars from the comfort of their home without having to visit a dealership. The platform connects to 500 sales touchpoints and has all Hyundai’s models, including the newly launched Creta and Verna.

Purchasing a car on the ‘Click to Buy’ platform is quite a simple affair. First, customers need to register on the Click to Buy website. Then on, the procedure is rather simple and personal  select a car, its model variant, colour, and the dealership closest to your place. For those customers who want their vehicles to be unique, the Click to Buy platform also has customisable options, just like you’d get at dealerships. Once all the selections are made, customers will get the final quotation and the finance options, post which the order can be made.

Speaking about the initiative, SS Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India, said, 'The ‘Click to Buy’ platform will act as an additional sales channel for all our Dealerships across India, thereby creating additional opportunities for remote interaction with customers and facilitation of sale even during periods when customers are unable to visit showrooms.'

Keeping in mind that the country is under a complete lock-down and automobile sales are at an all-time low, Hyundai couldn’t have chosen a better time to go live with this sort of an online sales initiative. Although the initiative has good potential, it might be more useful in converting prior interest to sales. With that in mind, its success remains to be seen, especially given that customers in India still like to visit a showroom and experience the car before writing a cheque.
