Isuzu D-Max S-Cab Z Pickup Truck Launched in India at Rs 15 Lakh

The new Isuzu D-Max S-Cab Z pickup truck has been launched in the Indian market, with a price tag of Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai). Registered as a commercial vehicle in India, the S-Cab Z is based on an all-new iGRIP platform, also known as the Isuzu Gravity Response Intelligent Platform – claiming to provide better handling on highways and off-road trails. Whereas, its high-tensile steel frame is said to offer superior strength and ruggedness. Up front, the commercial vehicle is shaped by an eagle-inspired chrome grille flanked by bi-LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, and fog lamps. When viewed from the side, we can see the S-Cab Z sporting chrome-finish door and tailgate handles, power-adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, sporty roof rails, a gun metal shark fin antenna, and new six-spoke wheel covers. The rear end gets LED tail lamps. Coming to the exterior colour options, this new variant can be had in Galena Grey, Splash White, Cosmic Black, Nautilus Blue, and Titanium Silver.

Isuzu D-Max S-Cab Z: Interior, Features

Inside, the Isuzu D-Max S-Cab Z comes with a leather-draped steering wheel with mounted controls, dual-tone upholstery, and Piano Black-finish trim elements. Besides, the pickup truck features anti-skid sidesteps, keyless entry, and height-adjustable headrests for more comfort. 

Other feature bits include a 7.0-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, an integrated rear parking camera, electronically adjustable ORVMs, 6 speakers with 2 tweeters, power windows, rear 60:40 tip-up seats, AC with pollen filter, cup holders, vanity mirror, and multiple USB ports. As far as safety goes, the S-Cab Z packs in ISOFIX child seat anchorages, speed-sensing door locks, door-side intrusion protection, a collapsible steering column, a cross-vehicle front beam, airbags for the driver and co-driver, and a brake override system, which is engaged during panic braking situations.

Isuzu D-Max S-Cab Z: Engine and Gearbox

Under the bonnet, the new Isuzu D-Max S-Cab Z receives a 2.5-litre Isuzu 4JA1 diesel engine with 78bhp of power at 3,600rpm and 176Nm of peak torque at 1,500 to 2,400rpm. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 5-speed manual unit.

Offered only in a two-wheel drive guise, the Isuzu D-Max S-Cab Z's kerb weight stands at 1,915 kilograms, while its fuel tank capacity is 55 litres. The D-Max S-Cab line-up now consists of the Hi Ride Cab Chassis AC, the Hi Ride AC, and the top-end Z. The range starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 12.54 lakh.
